An brought a overclocker 1080
Just waiting for the Vive to get back in to stock at my favourite online shop and will soon be VR'd up
Hoping card should turn up tomorrow!

It's one with a decent cooler on it and to be fair the standard overclock on it is quite modest.
Eventually I want to water cool my whole system to get rid of the massive cooler on my processor and neaten up the inside of my machine
I designed a custom RGB lighting system for it which, once I figure out how to get python to read the various system temperatures and other stats, will be able to respond to the computer and be a kind of notification about the computer

Please my 980ti runs at load at barely 70c.
My old amd gpu before it hit 90c almost by just turning the darn thing on.
On the other hand there is a bug with the latest drivers from nvidia, steamvr/vive and Elite dangerous.
I get some light twinkling in the edges but there seem to be much worse for 1080 owners.

I'm sold on the MSI GTX1080 GAMING X, and the Vive like you. Sold my old rig, and now looking for the right bargain. Keep us updated!

I'll get some stats on here once I have it installed and compared it to my 960 lol

Got it installed. On Ultra I am getting 150+ in station and 120 on planets
