When dropping out of FSD / Hyperdrive

Postby HuntersTalon » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:33 pm

Just some random thoughts while logging a good 40 hours into this game....

I REALLY Wish when I drop out of FSD / Hyperdrive that....

I won't be facing the back end of the Station.... or right next to the ring on a port bouncing off of it and damaging my ship..

The Nav beacon being so close to the sun that I either overheat or do an emergency drop...

The person that Interdicted me would actually be wanted.... and not a cop.

How about yourself?

First point is easy: the entrance always faces the planet, so instead of approaching the station from outside the orbit, approach it from inside (that is approach the station with the planet behind you). You'll find that the entrance is almost always visible when you exit SC (if it's not right in front of you already).

When I exit hyperspace, I always turn my ship as soon as possible to have the star above me. This way, I always see at which distance of the star I am (as I usually start scooping immediately, while I locate or select my next target). And if I'm getting too hot, I just have to pitch down.

When your reputation with the local faction will be friendly or allied, you'll find that it doesn't happen anymore. Only pirates will pull you out of SC, then.

I got pulled over in SC this evening by an Allied Security Patrol, I dropped out manually, rather than being pulled out of SC, but they didn't even bother scanning me... very odd behaviour, maybe a random spot check?

Yeah - I'm allied with Alliance and the Feds, and they've started interdicting me and then do nothing. Relatively new behavior.

I jumped in once at a station and had to veer off real quickly because the game had me come in right on top of the back site of the station. I'm glad I was in my Eagle at the time and was able to roll out of the way quick enough. So I can understand how you feel,

As for jumping into a new system I always hit X which is all stop for me since I'm playing with mouse and keyboard for now. This has me go to zero throttle once I reenter normal space and give me time to look where I need to go next.

They've probably never seen a real Count before.

Did you have your fog lights on with just your sidelights?

I was thinking along this line as well. You weren't flying with your landing lights on were you?
