but it still makes you feel rather twitchy the next time you meet another CMDR.

i had one CMDR approach my ship quickly as if to ram me in the same manner as a griefer had previously. i had reset my power and was ready to deploy weapons, when he typed 'Wave!' and defused the situation

Having read through the OP, it's got to be pointed out that it looks like you hit him/her first. Yes, it looks like the commander swooped in to steal a kill and then they probably thought you got annoyed at loosing the bounty and opened up on them. I would expect any complaint to that commander to come back very swiftly with a "he hit me first so I hit him back harder to make the point that it's not allowed in this group"!

Tough one, I know but accidents happen.

And no, it wasn't me.

It does if you're in a ship with a big rebuy. I'm still in my Viper, and wasn't too worried when I came across CMDR Kelgrath on Tuesday. Turned out to be my best experience so far playing E:D. It could only have been better if we'd managed to get voice comms working.

Very true - accidents happen, but killing someone's drives is not an accident.

Also, if someone is experienced enough to do what he did, they will know that flying through someones ordnance is going to make them turn hostile on the scanner.

I fully accept that without proof there is nothing that can be done, but I also fully accept that this was someone who knew exactly what had happened but turned on me anyway. Needless to say I'll be recording the meeting if I ever notice them in my instance again...

Just something to add to the original post: Did you know that you can jerry-rig modules at the expense of other modules now? Not tried it myself, but it was in the patch notes.
