One pro I can think of right away is Steams bandwith. The updating there always went really fast for me.

yeah but you wont be getting any updates from steam, the only update you would see is a launcher update, you still have to deal with frontiers servers for the updates.

Steam would come into its own if FD ever allow player created MODs (I could imagine custom HUDs). Until then I can see no real advantage unless you are someone who plays a lot of different games.
