Yep. 1340 hrs for the logs I could find. 1340/50 Euros = 26.8 hrs per Euro. Lets compare, shall we? Wife and I go to a Movie. Her in Switzerland, its about 10CHF per person for the Film. Cola and Popcorn, another 10 at least, then there is the parking, 2. And gas, at least 2 to get to the theatre and back. 34 CHF which is about 30 Euros for 2-3 hours. I'd say its a LOT better deal.

If you have ever bought a game and its sequel, its full price, no discount at all. Oh and they are separate content, so GTA 4 stuff is different that GTA 5. So this is a deal. WoW is 10 a month (120) plus the game, plus each expansion. ED is starting to look cheap in that comparison. 50 Euros for a year of play.

{ Sarcasm warning: You have been warned, I am about to use sarcastic language. If you do not like sarcasm, or don't understand sarcasm, then please do not read anything I have written here, or anywhere in the world, virtual or otherwise, in the past, present or future. If you complain about my sarcasm, after reading this warning, then I have the right so retort in such a manner that even Cmdr. Kharma will do a spit take. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED 8-) }

A Double Half-Caf-Decaf-Olay-Grande at your local coffee shop? What's that cost for the 20 minutes of fun?

If you are not getting enough enjoyment out of the game for 50 Euros, then maybe the game is not the issue.

Now if you excuse me, I am heading to my local car dealer. Bought a car there last year and a new model is coming out. Gonna Ask for a 25% customer Loyalty discount. I am sure he will be happy to oblige me.

P.S. I am not directing this at anyone in particular, except for you. Yes you. You know who you are. Suck it up Princess, you aint running the company.

P.P.S If someone suggests I write this on the FD Forum or Reddit, then you can copy paste and put it there with a link back here. I care not for the Cranky Self Absorbed Whiners that are complaining about the Price.

PPPS If you want to discuss the issues with the game, then by all means lets talk. But if you are arguing about the price, you have no leg to stand on.

Wel ltime spent in game and time spent while having fun in said game or doing something can be two different things. Lets say you are exploring and have a really bad luck, you spend 90% of time in loading screen instead of waiting for a scanner "bar" to load up to tell you what rock you found. :-) Just saying.

TorTorden wrote:40 euro is about what I would pay for three beers in a local pub, I don't do that I choose rather to give that to FD.

Depending on the country you are in. England probably? Ireland maybe. For you it is 3 beers, for me it would be hmm... about 50 beers. And I mean 0,5l beer, a pint. Not sure what truth there is in "cheesburger in McDonald is universal"... you can get 1 cheeseburger for about 1€ here, or loaf of bread. To give you another perspective on it, 40€ is 1/3 of a monthly rent for a small 2+kitchen flat at city suburbs. So for you 40€ maybe is one night out, poor one at that, for others it is rather a lot.
Just saying why some might see it as a lot.

Not quite sure the cinema is great example, after all you are most likely goinf there for the atmosphere and social aktivity or how to call it. You could as well watch a movie at home for much cheaper. It has it's flaws, plus it is highly individual on how much you like going out among others (sorry, not sure how to translate it, not native speaker) but yeah, I agree with you there on that there are a lot of activities that are less fun/cost effective.
The car thing... not sure how there, but here when you return your old car, you get some money back, though probably not % as much as you get the discount here. I think they pay by ton, as if you sold it to scrap yard for materials so...really really low %.
In space, no one hears you rage-quit :(

Norway, currently ranked as the second most expensive pint in the world (and most only sell 0.4 glasses not 0.5 anymore)
Anyhoo there is at least a decade since I bothered going out for a beer.

As I said in the sentence before the one you quoted, i acknowledge that the world has income discrepancies do you?
Games are bought with disposable income either you have it or not.
Should people better off pay more for their copy of their game so they can give those living under less affluent economies a deduction?
You say the premium pass is about what you pay for the rent. It would for me cover about 1/5 of my rent.
And I have a basement flat in the boonies with both the "shithole" and "family" discount.

I therefore say that since you have cheaper rent than me.
You should increase yours so I can get a rebate on mine, that sounds about fair does it not?

No of course that's not fair, as it isn't fair the other way around either.
Fairness is an ugly concept grossly dependent on perpesctive, a bit like the equally useless labels of good and evil but I'm digressing here.
For some the most fair is that everyone pays the same price, but as you state for others that's very least 'fair' option, so we mostly end up doing the thing that is the easiest, in this case everyone pays the same.

Right now the price is for the absolutely early adopters and in some way since I have figured it was worthwhile preordering this now i am sponsoring a future sale of Elite:Horizons.
And since Valve and steam are in the picture we know for certain that it will happen (they will eventually push for one) probably a few months after release, but I am certain that for those with a bit more patience you should be able to get it for 1/2 if not less of its current price of 40€ during one of their many many weekend or "insert holiday here" sales. Put it on your whishlist and steam will send you an email when it comes on sale.
In my experience the more niche a game is, the faster it comes on sale.
In other words a game lite elite will come on sale faster than a big game like GTA5 or next farcry.

Nope, it's still going on, and I got involved like an idiot.

Yeah, it is quite astonishing. (Not that you got involved :D )
Us, who backed 3 years ago (!) did not even know if the game would be made and I gave Frontier 200 pounds just on faith, have some nifty extras, but not "more game" and I am still happy I made that choice! Others gave much more, like Mobius, just for naming a planet and a station, and I think he still loves the game! ;)

Spoiled brats, all of them! ;)

Keyboard Warriors are what they are called.

They claim a cause and go off like they are John Wayne. I think they are more like John Wayne Bobbit (Google him) and are trying to get their 15 minutes.
