Boxed version of game with kickstarter, 2 accounts?

As part of my kick starter donation I received a boxed version of the game. Does this mean I have 2 accounts? I ask as I liked the idea of having a second commander to build up from sratch without all the benefits I got from being a KS backer. But I also don't want to loose my existing character.

I don't think you have two accounts. I have a boxed version from the kickstarter too, and as far as I'm aware it functions in just the same way as having a copy on Steam. Same account is registered to your name, only a different method of install.

The game is registered to your store account. Unless you have two store accounts that show you have a purchased game for each, then no, you only have ONE slot.
