Hello,

Another question. I was thinking of taking my Python out for exploration, but I see that most people prefer to fly the Conda, Asp or DBX. Is it possible to take my Python to the galactic core? Or do you need the greater than 20ly jump range to explore there?

Thanks and regards.
Have fun, fly safe.

You'll be able to get there with a 20LY range it will just take you longer due to more jumps. The density of stars increases as you head to the center of the galaxy. Just stay within the galactic plane, grab a good scoop so you don't spend too much time refueling and you'll be fine.

Bear in mind that while the density increases, fewer of them are scoopable (as a proportion).

The way I explore is to decide on my destination, about 900ly away, and make a written note. Then I plot with "fastest route" enabled. I scoop to capacity at every scoopable star. Then, when the tank is less than half full because of a lack of scoopable stars, I plot the route again with "economical routes" enabled. When I've managed to top off the tank, I plot again with "fastest route", and so on.

It is possible to highlight only scoopable stars and head for the nearest, but the above routine has worked fine for me and I tend not to get much less than half full. On my last 30,000 ly round trip I only needed to recalc with economical routes once.

Works in group too nowadays, probably even in Open.

Nope not in open (unless it's changed in the last four days).

Yes...I just learned last night that it indeed does work in group. I have not retested Open but I know during my last exploring trip, a couple months back, it did not work in Open.
