Maybe some bountyhunting in "Protect the Osmium miners" CG. Tried doing mission for OoM yesterday, but there was really not many missions offered in stations.

A bit of mode switching (solo still refreshes) can usually turn up some nice pirate hunts, some as high as 5.5m plus some assassinations.

Learn something new every day, I didn't know that, will it also spawn more wanted ships in the system? Last night I was flying around Azrael for 2 hours and shot maybe 10 wanted ships. Don't get me wrong I love flying in my gold plated Fer-de-Lance, but even I have my limits.

Yes, in my experience having missions will make it spawn more signal sources and stuff.

Now the trade bug is going to bite. :)

Have fun, fly safe. o7

P.S.: 12% more to Elite trader.

Thanks Falcon. I'm 67% away from Elite in combat, and 86% from elite in trade. It's going to be a while yet, but I feel that I've got the best tools for the job!

Working on it, bud. ;)

Can anyone say "trade wings"?

He he, I do that often because it's less boring. Doesn't really give more money, the dividends are only 5%.

My brand spanking new cutter got interdicted by an irascible npc FAS yesterday, whilst fully laden with slaves. Aha methinks, this baby has guns unlike my old T9. Altho I stripped his shields in no time at all and took his hull to 55%, I bravely legged it when my shields dropped. It handles like an oil tanker and the FAS was jousting. I just could not risk finishing him as I couldnt turn the thing. I guess thusters would remedy this, mine are D Class. But nonetheless I like this ship, but the guns will go and shield boosters will be added. My shields are A6 rather than the A8 I could use. I want the cargo space. So until i A class everything, its just a posh lorry.

I'm getting so ridiculously few imperial missions on that miserable rock now... at 71% Marquis, I kind of rage-quit, and decided to head for some donation systems, even if they aren't as good as Federal ones.... After cycling the boards like crazy and going to many stations within 4 different systems last night.... I got to 73%.

I think I'm going to have to head back to Cubeo. :-(

It felt so nice to actually fly in space again, instead of playing orbital missile-taxi, even if only for an hour or two though.

I'm considering skipping two parties this weekend, today and Sunday, in order to end this grind once and for all. I'd be ok with each mission giving me less % rank than before now that I'm marquis, if I could only get as many imperial missions as I used to.

I really want the cutter for a posh lorry. (It's very weird using the word "lorry" as an American, by the way...)

I'm planning to go the A6 shield route as well, but I will be using as many shield boosters as I can. Also thinking I should put turrets on the medium hardpoints, and only put gimballed on the larger ones. I'm hoping that will pack enough punch, but I don't think it's a good idea to use all gimballed or fixed on that boat.

I watched a youtube video with someone trying out the cutter, and he was trash-talking it up and down in combat, but I think it was mostly because he expected it to handle just like a clipper since it looks similar. He was expecting to use a "zoom and boom" strategy, which even before he tried it, I thought sounded absurd in that ship. He kept crying about how it's not a true warship. That kind of annoyed me.

Warships don't handle like fighters. They shouldn't. Honestly, if they were being realistic instead of "balanced", this ship would be covered in large and huge turrets, and nothing else; and the capital ships would have GIGANTORHUGERANT weapons, with maybe a few turrets similar to what they have now. You don't see the Starship Enterprise dog-fighting on Star Trek (and it's still probably more maneuverable on that show than it should be). It essentially has a few turrets (a few phaser emitters that are multi-directional, but effectively the same thing). If I recall, the Anaconda is about 2/3 the size of the Enterprise, or more, according to size comparison charts. (I think FDev does a lousy job of getting scale right per the size they claim ships should be, though. If the Anaconda is really the size of a football field, I'd expect it to seem much bigger when in an SRV) The cutter is even bigger.

The only thing I'd probably change about the cutter after researching it, is make sure it can equip a class 8 distributor.

Hello,
Took down a dangerous Vulture and a dangerous Anaconda while hauling 728t of imp slaves, in my Cutter just now.
Lady Krystin is pretty much A rated. Except her sensors and life support.
She carries an A6 prismatic so essentially an A7 shield genarator. And all A shield boosters except for the KWS and the chaff.
All gimbaled pulse except for the top 2 large has. Those are large turret pulses.
The Conda managed to get my shields down to 1 and a half rings. The vulture hardly shot at me.
You kind of need to know how to use the cutter's slide to your advantage.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Alas I don't quite have enough funds to A Rate Daisy. :( So for now I will bravely runaway. But she is, at least, a damn sight more enjoyable than that old rattly dustbin T9. I've not flown her much as I've only just purchased her, I guess I will get better once I get used to her foibles. I've noticed I can't dock nose first on this like I used to on ALL my other ships. I have to lower her gracefully onto the pad.

Schmobius, at least you knew what a lorry was. :)

I'll have to go and remove the guns and add shield boosters and remove the point defence as they're as much use as a chocolate teapot in a Saharan tea room. Ive berthed her in Azrael with my Asp and Vulture and that outfitters is terrible. :)

I have to admit I was puzzled the first few times I heard it, but I watch enough British TV shows that I eventually picked up the context.

Also, Dvorsi has a decent outfitter, one jump from Azrael, if you don't want to head to Diaguandri for discounts.
