Brilliant day! I arrived at the hotel just down the road at about 2pm and then straight in the pub with about 100 others. Went round to CMDR Awesome's house and had a go with Oculus Rift. Mindblowing stuff. Much better and easier to get used to than I thought it would be. (So much so I just ordered a DK2).

Back to pub for a few more then got a lift with a couple of guys to the venue. Just so happens one of them was ZaphodBeeble, notorious Freeport extortion racketeer.

Turned up, elite logos projected on the hangar etc. Got inside. For some reason was given a gold wristband which got me into the VIP lounge. Sorted! Champagne waiting. Went round a few times (had about 6 of those). All this was in the main hangar with all the British aircraft. You could wander round as you like. Loads of decent food. As I was wandering round I caught sight of David Braben being interviewed by French TV. I hung around and got Liqua's (Aeryn on this forum) Mrs to get him to sign my ticket. Also met TJ and Lone Gunman (forum mods who banned me), Titus Balls and a bunch of other people off the forums I can't remember as I was wasted.

They then opened the hangar partition door to reveal the scale model Cobra 3 and the main event area and the most important part of the event, the free bars. They had an Oculus area and a 4k area where you could play the game too. Lots of stuff going on. Great atmosphere. I managed to shake DBs hand and talk shite to Michael Brookes. (Get me pissed and I'm as big a sycophant as you can get). I spent quite a bit of time trying to get into every camera shot I could until the Mrs saw me on twitch.tv.

Towards the end, after the twitch stream, the book author's did some readings before it ended at midnight. I bought a nice event t-shirt and hoodie and a book to get Kate Russell to sign and nicked a big wedge of event coasters and pens. Someone offered me a lift back to the hotel and I had a nice surprise when we got to the car park as he had an Aston Martin!

Got back to hotel for a bit of a party. Got my book signed as seen in the pic. Her hands were all over me but who can blame her. Finally gave up at 2:30 as I had to leave at 7 to get back to Northampton (bloody Mrs wanted to go shopping with here sister and I had child-minding duties).
