Obviously I don't know what I'm doing in an A-spec Python, at least when doing everything I can to avoid any combat.

Between last night and this morning, I mined in Delkar 7 (well away from any RES) for a good 2 hours and filled my 224t cargo hold about 200t, around 36t of gold for the CG, using my A-spec Python. I then made the 5 jumps over to Naunin. I had purposely been avoiding combat and it seemed Mining would be peaceful again.
At about 3Ls before reaching the station, I got interdicted by a "Deadly" FGS. I tried to avoid the interdiction, and almost had it, but then it twisted and I was interdicted. Not wanting to fight, I immediate boosted and kept the FGS at 2km away, kicking out chaff. He slowly, but surely, brought down my A-spec shields (I went with the top class, plus an OA booster), just as the cooldown completed.
I laughed as I started my FSD charge as he barely got to 90% of my hull as it was nearly full. I was just about ready to jump, when I got a FDS malfunction, he had taken out my FDS with 89% of hull remaning. And that was that. Another 5M credit loss, which brings my insurance claims to over 15M for the last 5 hours of gameplay. I like risk, but every single chance is resulting in death for me.
I don't get to game but 4-5 hours/week, and all I'm doing is losing money now. Every single encounter is almost guaranteed death, even in an A-spec Python. The "chance rolls" or whatever they are doing just never seem to let me live. No interdiction until 3Ls from station (after hours and jumps), jumping, then he hits my FDS just as he starts to do hull damage. Kinda really long odds, yet it happens over and over.
Heck, when I got interdicted, I should have just exited and chanced the 15 seconds. I've never done that, and I shouldn't have to. Hence why I'm chickening out. The game is just too frustrating for a someone like me now. Heck, I'm pretty good at combat, and maybe I should have faced him and chanced it. But I guess I just never wanted to after the 2.1 patch, and just always run, not that I can ... and still can't seem to either.
I'm going back to Fallout 4.
