100% wrong. I have been doing nothing but recovery missions for the last two days and that's the only way to put it. You're just wrong.

My routine is drop into the Mission Objective SS, open hatch, cut throttle, fire two limpets, point cargo hatch at cannisters and switch to mines in case pirates show up, which they do about 70% of the time. I never target the cannisters because that uses up the drone that fetches it and introduces a drone management issue that I don't need when I'm poised and ready to spring the mine trap.

Something I encountered when picking up canisters, I arrived at the system, was fiddling around with my modules to get the power up and running of my collectors when the NPC arrived, a wing of a few ships. They scanned me to see what I was carrying (nothing up to that point, just limpets) and decided I was not very interesting. I then went and picked up the canisters for my mission and just jumped out again. No shots fired, the AI didn't scan me a second time. I'm not sticking around when the wing of angry pirate bees arrive, I'll get another chance of picking up the goodies. Although when I was nearly finished I got a comms message stating that I was picking up their salvage. By that time I was already counting down to jump away.

Hope this works:

Recovery Asp - Coriolis

The ADS isn't essential but vastly speeds up the mission.

Thanks! Will try out. Well. Not now. Maybe not even this week though. Need to recover and think about my next move. E:D just gotten too dangerous for a friendly miner/trader/do good CMDR like me. Sigh.

No kidding, I feel like I need a combat centric ship just to undock now. (god, this is starting to sound like why I left Eve)

This lost of shields was followed immediately by "Thruster malfunction". Oops... So much for that. Now what.

The only way i see to show FD how ridiculous the new AI is, is to combat log against this kind of npc interdictions. Don´t get me wrong, i am against combat logging (PvP or PvE) but i see no other way right now.

I can't even do that, I have yet to make a ship that lasts the full 15 seconds needed to combat log!

The 15s timer is not a combat log (ignore what you see on the FD forums)

Exit by menu is perfectly allowed at any time, for any reason. Is instant when ship not in danger, 15s timer otherwise.

Alt-F4 / 'End Task' and killing the game process immediately is what the Devs consider combat logging, but NPCs are unlikely to log a report

Against a current 'Super-NPC' is probably even advisable.

There were reports during the beta phases (and the last day was a mayhem special with everyone given a bounty on their heads!)

However a number of changes went straight to live it seems, certainly not tested for the whole beta period.
