Bitch please.

Like beta testers are ever listened to.

You might as well be a 19 year old female stripper in Prague totally expecting "him" to leave his wife and relocate you to London.

It is true and sad. There are many nasty NPC's ships with deadly accurate weapons that crush the best shields and hulls lickety-split, that is not recreational friendliness but yet I'm still here.

Faulty cargo scanners detecting cargo when there is no cargo, thought FD patched limpets mistaken for cargo, guess not.

Actually since then I have added 5A power plant and thrusters, and swapped a PD for an A0 shield booster. I did that after getting ganked by a modded Clipper that was after my "tasty cargo" while I was cruising with an empty hold. Two shots to take my 5A, 4-pip shields down, one shot to disable my thrusters, and a few more shots to consign me to the rebuy screen. I had 1000 credits left after rebuy. Had to sell my trusty old Cobra just to get back in business.

I must say that if I get ganked by a modded NPC again before FD announce some kind of effective remedial action then I'll be taking up World of Tanks. I'm just sick of being randomly taxed for massive insurance payments.

I finally took down one of those crazy NPCs earlier. FAS with a hardon for my "cargo" or distinct lack thereof.
"Heat Attacks" seem managable... the moment they whip out whatever it is doing this "Impulse attack" business... sheesh. Strange thing is, I am not even in a power anymore, but the ship was labeled as one of the President's Guys

100% wrong. <snip>

My routine is drop into the Mission Objective SS, open hatch, cut throttle, fire two limpets, point cargo hatch at cannisters and switch to mines in case pirates show up, which they do about 70% of the time.

I'm struggling to see what the difference between what you and JohnLuke wrote...

So far (8 missions or so) I have not had an NPC show up when I'm collecting black boxes. Rimsplitter hasn't had the same luck and he's saying that 70% of the time an NPC shows up while he's collecting his canisters.

Does that help clear it up?

Not really. You both seemed to indicate that the secret to successful salvage missions is to avoid targeting the canister you need.

I'm saying that they do show up when I don't target canisters, he's saying that they won't show up if you don't target canisters. We have had contrary experiences. I have done about twenty million credits worth of recovery missions in the last few days.

I reckon that with any ship that can carry an A7 limpet controller, and with missions from allied factions, you should easily be able to clear 3.5 million an hour on these recovery jobs, plus incidental bounties and profit from collected junk. Not bad for non-combat pilots.

Oh well... Long story short. A few seconds that seemed forever later I was blown to pieces.

Just doesn't seem right. Interdicted without comms. Elite npc? Why! No cargo just limpets... Couldn't even escape the way I escaped the last 200 times. I think this was the first interdiction I actually didn't survive.

So yeah... It's true what they say. The rumors are right. There are some pretty darn nasty npc's out there. Heads up commanders!

Hello Commander, not certain if you are aware but you may get a reimbursement for you lost to an NPC cargo hunter when you had no cargo.

No? I didn't know!? I'll have to read your link later but don't think I got anything to prove that.

He didn't demand cargo also. No comms. Just a blood thirsty pirate. Guess that's part of being in space.
