I find that if you randomly click the buttons and switch between throttle and joystick a few times, it magically works. :-)

Seriously though, I'll try and put a few screenshots together later for how I set it up. One thing you'll need before you start is to make sure that the throttle (or whichever you're setting curves up for) is actually active. There is the known X55 issue of it not allowing both to be configured at once. I had to install them separately, configure them and save the settings. Luckily, this is stored on the device itself so you don't lose it when you switch to the other. This is only needed for the curve designing (you can tell if it's not working because all the buttons will be greyed out on the Settings page. You can still define custom keys for the buttons.

Thanks Neil...I'm not having any problems with setting the curves, it is the pitch, yaw and roll that is giving me problems. However, I have now found the programming manual so will give it another go.

I was happy with the way I had it until I thought that it may be a good idea to use the mode switch and have one set for Flight and another for trading etc whilst docked. Haven't decided what to do with the third yet :)

Going to have a read of the manual now.

Ah, ok. No worries. :-) I haven't tried anything with the mode switch yet either.

I haven't looked into curves yet. So far I've mainly used the switches to execute hot keys, and the only thing I use the mode switch for is to use the fire triggers to take screenshots (fire 1) and high def screenshot (fire 2).

I've considered trying to have different sensitivities on the stick's axis when flight assist is off, but I haven't looked into it yet so I'm not even sure it's possible (would be cool if it was!).

What are you trying to assign them to? I just use the Elite axis binds for the joystick and throttle axes. It's only for custom actions (like throttle rocker down pressing Shift+Tab to bring up steam overlay...for Artie's companion tool) that I use custom binds for. Everything else, I use ED.

That's basically what I've done too. But I think it would be cool if it was possible to have two different sets of sensitivity on the stick's axis: one for normal usage (FA on), and the other for flight assist off (so FA off wouldn't be so twitchy). Kind of what they do with fly by wire on modern aircrafts.

Ideally that would be in E:D's controls, of course, but since it isn't, I wonder if that couldn't be done with the X-55 software.

I have decided to set it all back the way I had it.

I couldn't get the programming software to work for my old x52 either so I have given up on the x55 for now, apart from having to rebind the throttle now and then everything worked fine.

I have an X65f and I'm guessing it's the same Mad Catz profile editor thingy.

Took me a while to set mine up, but, as others have said it opens up more keys and uses.

Still it was a nightmare to do and once I was happy with it I made several backups, and even printed out a few hard copies of the button layout :ugeek:

Good Luck! :)

Thanks...I think I will need it

Going to use my old set up for now but will keep on trying to set up the Mad Katz Profiler. Not going to let it beat me this time :)

Have you seen that vid? I found it useful.
