Well, made it up to 30% toward Elite...

Mind you a wing of two Pythons and an Anaconda is somewhat challenging. Lots of lone ships though, and serous money to be made, just like the RES from before they nerfed them, only more challenging, I think these will become a regular haunt for me

FANTASTIC!! Thanks for the review, Xebeth! I was hoping to hear something about the Hazardous RES soon. It sounds like a great place to wing up with some friends and kick some serious NPC butt!

A few more things...
All the AI have seen have been Dangerous and Deadly, not seen any Elite yet, but they may be there.
There is no security in these, you do get AI attacking each other so there are some opportunities for assists, but mainly you are on you own.
The AI does seem to have a few issues at the moment, it is very aggressive if you attack from the front, but if you attack from directly behind it seems to get confused and will just spin on the spot, I would imagine this will get fixed.
When it is being aggressive, the AI is very aggressive, they use chaff a lot, will ram you, and seem to have acquired the ability to do strafing runs.
The changes to power plant damage have introduced an interesting mechanic, as I'm sure everyone knows, taking a pp down to zero no longer destroys the ship, but it does (currently) seem to leave it powerless and just floating in space. What this does mean, is that if you take on a couple of ships that are in a wing you can cripple the first one, then basically ignore it while you take on the second, then go back and finish off the first. I'm not sure if this is intentional or a bug, but it does bring a certain tactical element to combat.
(it also means that if you are feeling particularly vindictive once you have crippled a ship you can then line up with its cockpit and unload directly at the pilot)
