First played Elite on the Acorn Electron - my brother and I still remember the elation of getting a docking computer!
Been playing a couple of weeks. My story so far..
- Had some fun bounty hunting - learnt the hard way not to attack an Anaconda with a sidewinder...
Saved up enough for a Cobra, did some more bounty hunting
Traded some rares
Flew my ship into a planet - died
Flew my ship into a binary star system - died
Landed on planet, spent hours driving around for no reason other than it looked cool
Flew off in one direction for hours until I could put my name on a Star
Visited a Nebula
Stumbled across Sothis panicking that someone would blow me up before my discovery was logged
Spent a while there running missions before I realised it was a 'thing'
Saved up for an Asp to do the trade run at Sothis
Got blown up by NPCs a LOT...
Learnt how to fit-out ASP....
Stopped getting blown up so much
Currently making some cash doing Sothis runs
Terrified of angry teenagers blowing up my shiny new ships hence my arrival with you guys
I love it. Pretty much interested in everything the game has to offer. Is there a public chat channel or anything I can join? Keen to hook up with some people to fly with. I often play late, I often fly after as few glasses of Lavian Brandy...
It's amazing that you stumbled across Sothis. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack. Geeez.
