Hi folks,

Am new here but not so new to Elite: Dangerous, though being said I haven't played in quite a while. Live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and played Elite from the original version (Spectrum 48k). Gives an idea of how old I am;)

Pre-ordered the game as soon as possible and played on release for a bit. Lost a bit of interest in it early on and quite frankly haven't touched it until the weekend just past. Starting again from scratch in my Horizons Sidewinder and looking forward to the adventure.

Play mainly in the Oculus Rift but it's hard to beat the visuals on a monitor.

Glad to find a bustling community. I was a long time Eve-Online player and the communities are what made the game for me. I much prefer PvE in a nice relaxing game. Happy for the odd bit of combat but not every time I undock.

I agree with you on the VR Vs. monitor debate. I love using my Vive for immersion, but a high resolution monitor provides a gorgeous gaming environment in E-D. I tend to go back and forth, depending on what I'm doing in-game at the time.

Please feel free to add your name to our In game friends list for PC.

and check out our TeamSpeak servers or Discord (voice and text chat) servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already .

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.
