Yeah I thought we got this point across already .
Firing multiple banks at the same time like we did before IS A BAD IDEA.

I imagine a few modules lose 1% or so each shot, so you don't get too much cumulative damage before you need to rearm. As for firing 2 SCBs at a time, I never found the need before and I'll certainly avoid it now.
There were some big explosions outside your canopy. Were those missiles exploding against your shields? I don't remember seeing those graphics before. Are they new, or are the AI shooting more missiles now (or did I just forget again)?

Edit: actually I figured that if I didn't fit 2 HSL modules I could add 2 extra Shield Boosters = stronger shields. But on the other hand if I fit 2 HSL modules I could fit and use more SCBs and top up the shields more frequently. Six of one...

IMO you are being overly cautious by using Heat Sinks in your Vette. I've never had a HSL on that ship and won't give up a SB slot for it. I've only had a 'module damaged' message once, and just flew to the nearest station for repair. (You could use an AFMU to do the repairs, and stay in the RES) The module damage occurred during a very intense CZ session, where I was firing SCB's while firing 7 pulse lasers at the same time on several occasions. For RES hunting I see no reason for a heat sink, unless you're running a lot of beams and PA's like TorTorden.
Just my 2 cents worth.
