Strange thing, I checked two conflict zones (high and low) in Falisci and both offered only the Traditions Faction -- on BOTH sides ... er ... -- and only Imperial Vessels on my screen. Should that be so?

@jockgit Thanks for asking, no progression yet due to lack of jump range (a problem I got more or less rid off though an upgraded FSD drive now).

*sigh* seems to be a bug. Oh dear Murphy.

EDIT Just saw that some moderator there thought it would be a good idea to blend the topic with a completely different topic (huge bounty thread vs. confict zone possible bug). Oh well.

EDIT 2: I found missions in Falisci that require the destruction of X targets (doesn't matter which ship or faction) to get a paiment (which may not even cover the ammunition costs); so this points to it that the bug might be at least "a bit" intended. Though cannot really see why ...

EDIT 3 finally made it to Serf :)

Jumped into Coquim this evening and came across a combat zone. The system is controlled by the Empire and two 0% independant factions are duking it out in a civil war. Got a nice mission to stick my nose in for the Empire and kill stuff, so did that plus a delivery mission and got myself a nice promotion to Serf.

Will hang around for a while and help the Empire throw the ruffians out of the system. There is at least 3 or 4 High intensity zones and 2 Low.

Only problem I encountered was running out of ammo quite quickly. The low zone was full of Pythons and Anaconda's which really take all the ammo I have to put them down. The high has many more fighters which seemed to be a better choice as managed more kills.

The serpants might wish to consider heading to Facece where civil war has broken out. One of the factions (Gold something or other) is an Imperial one so you are fighting the good fight my friends. There are usually some missions to take out anything from 5 to 9 warzone targets paying between 11,000 and 25,000 on top of the combat bonds (I think Simpson Depot is the name of the station closest to one of the low intensity zones). Targets range from Imperial fighters and Eagles right up to Clippers (breaks my heart to destroy these beauties), Pythons and Anacondas. Also there are a number of Capital ships in the area which are things of beauty and worth checking out.

Great, would love to see some CapShips. Only how do you get the required system permit?

On other news, just made it to Serf :)

I got my permit through promotion, I can't remember at which rank you get it though
