Finally got my Permit :)
Went doing bounty hunting again in Alchor and took some missions here and there, and finally here it is!
I believe the bounty hunting did some of it because as soon as I turned in my bounty rewards I saw the friendship change, but so did it when I took a simple cargo deliver mission,, as mentioned just make Alioth happy :)

Hello fellow Allied commanders. Looking forward to meeting up at some point; I don't get to play very often these days, and when I do its usually after the better half has gone to bed, so I have trouble with voice chat (its a very small flat!) but hopefully I can be of some use; keen to try out these new fangled wings.

See you out there,
Grumbleweed (aka Byker)

Do I hear a British twang? If so, I usually play about 4 hours behind you in the evenings so I may see you out there. You don't have to use voice chat in wings, but if you can at least listen it will help so everyone doesn't need to type.

I picked up my Vulture this morning. It will be great fun while it lasts. After flying the Type 9 for the week, it seemed a bit twitchy, but I got used to if fast enough. I made 500k just practicing. Then I made several changes to my key bindings. When out and made another quick 300k. Then when landing, I lost control and almost crashed because the controls were mixed up in landing mode. I'll get that sorted out and then head to 78 Ursae Majoris area.
It's time to give this another go.

So I got my controls figured out and made into the sector. Still no conflict zones. Wtf? Have they come and gone? Is the background simulation broken? I'd swear GalNet had an article on the war and I haven't heard anything since. What can I do to support the Alliance before heading back to make a living?

Waiting for the results of the battle. We lost but for who not have a capital ship, we made a wound i feds heart! If a god can bleed, it's not a god!

Yeah, I popped into 78UM and started bounty hunting, then I wasn't sure if that was helping the Feds so I quit.

I saw therhaj in Lugh. If I knew I could have made a 15 million credit bonus, I might have joined the fight, even though the wing - and the Alliance - wasn't officially supporting the rebels.

I spent most of my time trying to get the Phekda permit - just because. I must have killed hundreds of them (Phekda Society) while bounty hunting. I guess one of the other factions finally gave me a mission to pick up some stolen narcotics. Seeing how I'd seen pirates drop narcotics cargo several times already that day, I said what the hell. I saw Byker in several nearby systems, and Hengest too, but there didn't seem to be any "wings goals" to accomplish, and I was busy with my mission. Anyway, 6-8 hours later it was time for bed and still no narcotics to be found. So I abandoned the mission, turned states evidence against Phekda Society, and left with my 74 credit payment for all my effort. On the other hand, I think I made about 4-5 million on bounties, so my time wasn't totally wasted. Also, Phekda appears to be a pirate system with no real benefit (unless you trade slaves), so I'm not too interested in that.

I'm just short of 12 million in combat profit, and I have 500k due to me in the Empire. I'll go turn those in and see if I get bumped to Master for that, or if I'll need to get more kills first. I was going to head back to trading, but I may work on my combat ranks before Frontier nerfs the Vulture.

I got my Phekda permit late last week. I just wanted it because there aren't many permit systems in Alliance space. Not for any other reason. I Spent some time last week bounty hunting in and around Alioth in my Vulture. To the point that I started getting bored.

The Vulture is way overpriced/powered in it's current bracket (at least against NPC's) and takes a lot of the fun out of hunting NPC's to the point I barely played the game this weekend. Last night I put it away in storage at Irkutsk in Alioth and bought another Asp.

I'm having a hard time bounty hunting in and around Alioth because I am allied with almost everyone, even in the anarchy systems, Sobek, Tiethay etc. In the end one of the high value hauler missions for 200k profit took to to Alcor where I found I was only allied to one faction and had a lot of fun in my Asp. Got run out of the RES a couple of times 4-1 was proving quite tough in D shield Asp with A0 shield booster but I was having fun and got out alive :). Changed my loadout to 2 MC's on one side and 2 beams on the other plus heat seeking missiles on the lowest mounts.

I actually had to use six of the missiles to survive the four against one situation and staggered out with no shields but minimal hull damage to collect my haulage fee. No repairs at Fast Landing, so off to get that fixed next.

The Vulture may be too strong, but it is a dedicated heavy fighter. It takes out just about everything w/o many problems, especially if others are helping. I could say the same thing about the Asp, which is just a little less maneuverable. But I still got my but kicked by a wing of 2 Sideys. They just pounded down my A-rated shields in no time and I had a very hard time getting on target. They also had super strong shields and hulls. That time I ran away with 90% hull. Then I went against a wing of 3. I ran to recharge the shields at 87%, then came back and finished off one, and the other 2 ran for it. So it can get exciting. I'd expect a high intensity conflict zone to be a challenge.

My problem with the Vulture is 2x class-3 beams is impossible, power wise. So I have one beam and one cannon, both fixed. The beam is hard to aim since there is only one, offset to the side. I started getting used to it, but it's not like the self-centering "zoom" with 2 beams. And the cannon is almost impossible to use. I must not be using it correctly, but if I use the pipper I never hit anything. I only use it on Asps, Drop Ships, Pythons, and Connies once their shields are down. Even up close, shots routinely miss. When the target is filling the screen, I can usually hit it.

I've been spotted :) Which is weird because I haven't seen a soul since... well for ages. I wonder if I actually have a network issue..
