Here's an old one that always makes me laugh. They do like their alcohol in the Empire.

And here's a view of a recently visited RES. It may be safe to mine there, but I didn't stick around.

Was sitting around in the Tau Ceti system earlier and noticed that someone from my friends list was not only online but also within one jump of my location, over at errmm Epsilon Indi, I think - usually people are at least 150 or so light years away (as was the case with the three or four other friends who were currently online) but in this case I thought I'd hop over and see if I could find the commander in question. So I went on over and landed at the nearest space station (forgotten the name now, the one nearest the star anyway...might've been called something like Mansfield Orbital), then sent a tell to the guy saying hi and the name of the station I was at - he replied saying he was at that station too and we ended up flying outside and having a nice chat whilst staring at each other. And we took a screenshot each too...

...Hmm, except, for some reason it won't let me upload it here :(. The format it was automatically saved in (.bmp) is coming up as invalid or something and I've tried saving it in .png format and it says it's too large, and still says so even though I've cropped the image a lot. What am I doing wrong? No-one else seems to be having a problem uploading their piccies :(.

I use irfanview, a top notch free program, to resize & save my images. I'm at 2650x1440, so I just use resize image to cut it in half and then save it as an 80% quality jpg that is usually about 100-120kb. I think the board limit is 200kb. It is also easy to draw a box, drag to desired size, and crop. Make sure to save it as a copy. ;)

It's time to give this another go.

Yeah, I tried cropping the image a bunch of times and it kept saying it was too large - I couldn't see anything to indicate what the size limit was for pics on here but I was in a bit of a rush as I was about to go out - I'd hoped I could quickly get the upload done before I went out but never mind, I'll have to try again on Monday when I get home. Maybe Commander Dudley-Dawg will have better luck at uploading the pic he took of me during our conversation :D.

Well the maximum file size is only 256 KB. That's pretty small. If you really want to upload the image here, I'd suggest you to try JPG, which makes much smaller files.

But if you want to provide good size and definition for your images (or just not bother cropping and converting them), try http://imgur.com. You can upload your images there (you don't even have to sign up) and it will allow you to generate image tags (in various sizes) that you can use here.

For example this:

Code: Select all

[url=http://i.imgur.com/rjKFFL4.jpg][img]http://i.imgur.com/rjKFFL4.jpg[/img][/url]

gives that:

wich you can click to get the full size.

:D Good news, found the image... :D - saved it as a JPEG but looked a bit grainy. Also still over 500 meg. :(
Still working on it, will try one of the utilities mentioned earlier.
May I say, the cobra in the camo livery, looks stunning. :D

Dudley.
Must work on my artistic skills more... Lol.

Scooping fuel is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First check the target is hot enough,
then approach slowly. Once close enough, pull out your scoop and fill her up. After you're done just
gently pull away, turn around and leave.
