Just took my Python into a RES for a couple of hours -was much more of a leisurely experience than in my Vulture - no boosting all over the place - yet still made just over 3M in bounties.

Back to trading and a few missions for a while.

Returning to Herschel Landing with 44% hull and 3m in bounties, in the final battle I started with 1 shield ring left and 74% hull in the darkness of this RES site was fighting a Dropship but was then jumped by another Conda, finished off the Dropship and took out the Conda but he knocked my shields out and whilst I was finishing him off another Conda attacked knocking me down to 44% hull, after I'd destroyed the first Conda I quickly put full pips to engines and made my escape.....

Up to 200,000 credits now in my target of getting a Cobra.

Had the shock of a lifetime when I jumped out of Super drive straight into the side of a space station. BANG! I came away with surprisingly little damage. I got worried that the police would come smash me in though.

I also accidentally found out that I had been fined 400 credits somewhere in the game after I was playing around in the right hand screen display of my cockpit. They had never asked me for it.

Saw a blue-White sun today. Vary interesting.

Also I had been shuttling between two stations in two systems on a trade run. I gad conducted about ten of these going back and forth sorties when I left the station to find that my target hyper jump gate was behind the nearby planet. Not sure if this was the planet's orbit doing this but the gate was Right on the opposite side of the planet. Took me a bit of jumping about to get back on track.

When that happens, enter SuperCruise and Fly around the planet, then make the jump. You should have key bindings for a Full Jump (I think default is J) and SuperCruise (default I think is C). So, hit C, go around the planet, then J to jump.

200K is a good start. Good luck, you will be in your Cobra by the weekend at this rate

Thanks for the advice. Yes I'll have that Cobra vary soon. I have a trade route between two stations that brings me about 13,000 each two-way trip.

Another evening of bounty hunting went by and got a few steps closer to my goal. Only 6 more million credits to go until I can get the Clipper and then it is off to federation space to cash in the other bounties which are just sitting there

Wait, what? You changed from a combat-crazy Vulture to your nimble yet much smaller Eagle to rank up in combat?
While I love the approach I sort of miss the point there. In terms of ranking, a Vulture should do better (=more kills in a certain time), shouldn't it?
