One side effect of the dust disparition I noticed, is that very far away asteroids rotate in batches. It's more visible when the star is behind them, so the light reflexion on them changes when they rotate, and without the dust to hide it, it looks pretty bad.

This post has been helpful for 1.3 RES Farming.
Kinda sad that the combat alternative to Trading has been nerfed to hell. More testing needs to be done.

I also don't mind helping new CMDRs out in RES zones, sideys, Eagles, as long as you get one hit, the bounty is shared. Just hit and run but you must have a working mic for comms.

HIP 20277 - Fabian city is about 20ls away from 5 or 6 RES points.

Why are close RES points that important? I thought, at least in 1.2, that if you got a "good" RES (big ships) you didn't want to leave. If you left, it'd reset.

It seems the same in 1.3, at least from my experience playing tonight.

Having a station sub 1 ls from RES means you are mere seconds away from rearm/repair and paying off fines. Having a large gap between station and RES adds up a lot of time flying back and forth as well as increasing the chance of inderdiction. If your ship is severely damaged, having that station nearby can potentially save millions of credits.
Once you got at least 1 local faction to hostile in 1.2, the chances of a 'good' RES became near 100%.

Before 1.3, I found it possible to make 2.5-3 million credits per hour RES farming. I did this to accrue enough credits to cover insurance several times over when I wanted to do actual stuff in the game. I could have simply traded in a Type 9 or Anaconda, but I find that trading kills my interest in this game. Fortunately, smuggling sounds really interesting now.

Before 1.3, I added the first Anarchy System to the OP, LP 98-132. It wasn't special in 1.2, but now that RES have been revamped, this Anarchy system may be the best RES I know of. Freeport is essentially a ghetto starport with flickering lights, but it doesn't have a speed limit or those silly laws that other systems do.

It only has 2 RES that border each other. Freeport can come as close to ~15 Mm to the RES. The large planet means the potential for a long night :/
I'll be parking my fighter here for now. I get the feeling that Anarchy systems will become much more popular.

edit: this place is great! feels like 1.2. If you do not have strong shields, you will perish quickly. I'm happy to wing up with any visitors! This place doesn't have any security presence. High Tech system, Asellus Primus is 5.78 ly away.

Happy hunting!

Hey everyone, 1.3.0.2 comes with this important change:

- "Fix for the various intensities of RES locations. High, normal and low now mean high skill, medium skill and low skill, which they didn't before."

Making things the way they should be. Feel free to add any new systems you guys find!

hmm i think they adjusted the wrong stream of ships. last night after the update i went into a high-intensity RES, and all the pirates were still mostly harmless Eagles and Sidewinders plus the occasional Adder or Cobra - but the miners were now elite or deadly.

so if you're a pirate, yeah it's more of a challenge. if you're a bounty hunter, it's same old story, same old story.

---> ooh, look. a Vulture! unfortunately it's only a novice just like all the other crap in the RES

If the RES is like that after 5 or 10 minutes, just reset it. That is go to supercruise and get back into the RES immediately, or go back to the main menu and join again. If no other commander was there, a new instance will be created and a new population of NPC's will be defined.

Sometimes it can take some time to get a good one, even like that. But now you can have RES that spawn mostly Elite and Deadly big wanted ships, which was never possible before. Or you can have a RES that spawns lots of Elite or Deadly small ships, like Eagles, Adders, Cobras, Vulture. That never happened before either. And of course you can have the collection of low-ranked big and small ships.

I have encountered similar results as Flip reports. I left the Anarchy system I was in to check out Ross 467, my favorite RES farm for my heavy fighter. I chose this location because it has 3 High Intensity RES all super close to the starport. It isn't a well equipped station like some other systems are on the list.

I left and returned the RES two times before it started spawning Clippers, Pythons, Dropships, Vultures, and other smaller ships. I had 1 Anaconda Fed able to distract some of the pirates; along with eagle feds as cannon fodder. I didn't encounter a single wanted Anaconda :? , but I was not able to keep up with killing all the wanted ships. I was spamming Chaff and using my SCB's more frequently than I was before in 1.2. The Dangerous+ ranking for the AI makes this a lot more rewarding and fun.

In my opinion things are better now than they ever have been. It is far more challenging, but I was able to make 2.1 million cr in about 3/4 of a Top Gear episode before I had to retreat back to base for rearm. In that 45 minutes, I used 34 Chaff and 3 SCB's to remain in constant combat. There wasn't a single moment where I had to boost around looking for a wanted large ship. I bet Wings will be far more useful for this type of earning credits.

i've already reported that in FD's bugs thread, and they say they're passing it on to the devs.

currently there's no pirate Anacondas, no pirate Elite. it's going to make ranking up harder for any Deadly commanders out there
