Currently, I am im imperial space to do some missions to prove myself worthy for additinal ranks within the society.

Currently about 6000 Ly's from Sag A. Set off with all the best intentions of being back by now but been out there close on 2 months now due to starting a new work contract with long hours and not much time off cutting into my play time . Completely missed all the power play stuff so far.
On the plus side I am on Season 4 of 9 of the X files and have found loads of good unexplored stuff on my journey so far

Got my canopy blown out in a RES (Vulture) took 30% damage to hull after being ganged up on lot's deadly ranked sidewinders and eagles, finished them all off and made it back to the station okay. Doing some missions with Flip although they've seemed to have dried up after the last update. Not seeing any more Empire/Fed ranking missions, was hoping to get to Baron(ess) and buy a Clipper...sigh.....

Currently heading to Duval space as I have defected there to gain the bounty bonus. Seems more of you guys are in that general area of space so I have a better chance of winging up with someone. Should get to the border tonight as I am not far away. Hope to see a res site like last night with condas as police making the credits roll in.

where do you find ranking missions? and I picked federation when starting the game but now I am being converted to empire - will this matter?

You can rank with both at the same time, they are usually offered bulletin board after doing missions or trading with stations and gaining rep.
