I'm about to log in again. It's such a big universe/galaxy in Elite that despite this group's number of members, I've only caught a glimpse of another player on my radar once. I'm currently working on my reputation with Allioth Independents (or something) so that I can get a permit to that system to get an ASP for cheaper than usual. Now if only I had saved the bonus from that one community event for this.

Ranked up to Entrepreneur at some point but never got a fancy message about it. Or I did and never noticed.

I met up with FCCB1891 last night and we winged to beat a few ships in the CZ of the system he was in. I flew 120ly over to him and we did not die, so that's good. My Python has 3 large pulse and 2 Medium Multis. All turreted. Works well.

We used in game Comms and it worked well, although I thought I had it set to push to talk, but he was hearing everything. When I did change it, it stopped working. That was my fault as I had TS open and it was taking over when I pushed the button.

Oddly enough, it seems recently that you're more likely to meet another CMDR in Mobius than in open.

Well, I think at most only a few hundred are online at any given time, and for some weird reason it seems most of us are hanging around in empire space, I dunno.
Personally I come here for the lucrative slave trading and the brothels the former naturally brings.

On a slightly more topical note, I am currently sitting in a RES, watching the sun rise over the planet and,, must have been doing that for quite some time now...

Yup, might have to do it twice though to get rid of the shadow\hidden bounty.
And the only reason to not do this is you also loose your uncollected bounties with fed\alliance, but you can take a 30ly hauler and cash those in quite quickly.

oh, yea... how does that work? If i get killed once i have the "dormant" bounty. will the local police still go after me? or is it just there to reactivate if i do something stupid again?

You get the dormant bounty only if you're not killed by the faction that put the bounty on you. Then, you'll read as clean to everybody but that faction. That is bounty hunters will leave you alone, but if a cop from that faction scans you, your bounty will be restored. OTOH, if you were killed by a cop from that faction in the first place, your bounty would be cleared and you wouldn't have the dormant bounty at all.
