The Who: Live At Leeds and The Jam: All Mod Cons. See these last bands would more likely be described as "mod" but so what. I think they rock.

I agree with you on AC/DC, although my personal favourite is the Highway to Hell album.
I have no knowledge of punk. I always thought it was about screaming at society as much as possible, which some of your posts have solidly rectified.
I have no personal preference in music in general, as long as it isn't too complicated. I don't want my music to make me think too much, I prefer it to be an injection straight to the gut.
Never heard much of The Who. I'll have to give it a listen.
