Supposedly award-winning, voted best of etc etc (don't they all say that?) and it's junk. Main current issues being

1 - it doesn't cut where I tell it to cut, and

2 - there's no sound output.

I've had issues with 2 before and got onto their 'support' (which is as dire as the product) but always end up having to work these things out for myself. I fixed the 'no sound' issue last time, but it doesn't apply to these videos.

This is why the world of commercial software is more and more of a rip-off. No demos to try out first and no returns - or you use the demo and it works great and as soon as you get the full monty, nothing works like it did in the demo.

Out of interst mate, what recorder did you use ?
Im currently looking at a few ... Ive never recorded any in game stuff before, but I may try my hand at it .
If Im going to have to shell out a few quid for it, then any inside info will be worth its weight in gold.
Its all a bit of a minefield to me as Im a bit of a "grunt" when it comes to tech stuff.

I have to say congrats Brixmis. You certainly calmed down in those 39 minutes between your posts.

What were you drinking? (I want some)

You know I only ever touch Drambuie!

Must admit, though I only have a drop or two in my coffee, whenever I open the bottle and wiff that sweet lube, I can't resist having a good swig out of it :D

You should try it sometime ;)

Now I'm really pissed off!

I've been messing around with my video editor all day, up to now, trying to find out how to use certain functions (there's no manual) and doing quite well.

I edited my 38 minutes of video down to 17 minutes and got some very nice transitions between my 8 clips, with titles etc all done as well. Took me until one o'clock this afternoon (from 9 this morning). Then it took me the large part of an hour to get it on YouTube - including all the blurby crap that you have to do, such as tags and thumbnails and descriptions. Most of that hour was their 'processing'.

Next thing, the whole shebang disappears and I have a blank page with the message "Your video exceeds the limits".

What? Taking all that time, when they could have got that info in about 3 minutes, max. They would know the length and size pretty much straight away. So what is exceeding a limit? Can't be length - it's 17 minutes and I already have one up that long. Size? It's 1.22GB, so this might be what they are on about.

Unfortunately, being the useless bunch of sods that they are, they don't even give me a clue.

I got very fed up with them several times in the past - that's why I try and host all my videos on my own website. The problem there is, since the cpanel 'update' earlier this year, the UI is no longer intuitive - you have to know the thing inside out to get the results you want (now isn't that a typical American thing? An update that makes it 'n' times more difficult to get what you want, when the previous one could have been used by a monkey? I'm sure our US members will confirm).

I also had a look at Vimeo, but didn't like what I saw. I don't like YouTube, but I'm stuck with it - or nothing. problem is, they know that and imho, abuse it (just ask all the peeps who were extremely angry about having to use their own names for their channels and being automatically signed up Google+ accounts they didn't ask for or want).

So basically, I've got this video sat here after all that effort, and nowhere to upload it to. I'm not going to edit it, because there's no guarantee after all the rigmarole of getting it online again, they won't just dump it again.

They badger people to use the formats they recommend and to upload directly in HD, and when you do, they throw it out.

Sorry guys.

I converted it to flash video to see how it looked, so I could put it on my website.

In a word - awful! :?

I will keep trying, though, as I know the stars of the video are keen to see themselves in action . If you'll excuse the unintended pun :P
