Like the different modes, but would not have a clue how to set them up.

Thanks for sharing

You're welcome.

You need to put the ".pr0" file in the SmartTechnology Profiles folder (as mentioned, rename the file) - on my PC it's:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles

then when you plug the X52 stick in you should get an Icon bottom right, right clicking the icon you should now be able to select the profile

For the .binds file, this needs to go into the Elite Dangerous binds folder, again rename the file (keep the .binds) on my PC the folder is:

C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

Again if you don't use the EDTracker you will need to edit the binds file in notepad and remove the lines I mention in the first post. Most of the stick controls are actually set up in elite, but certain macros & the modes are set up in the stick profile. (e.g boost override when in landing mode)

Hope this helps.

I'm currently using a 360 controller but am thinking about buying my first ever HOTAS. But I thought the x52pro was plug and play, with a dedicated user interface for configuration?

It sounds like an awful chore to be renaming files and what not. I understand the option to reconfigure keys, but does it have to be so cumbersome?

Thanks

The stick is plug and play, but it also has it's own software for programming macros onto the buttons, which is what the "pr0" file is. The files need to be in the correct folders for both elite and the stick to see them, the renaming of the files is optional, I'm happy for you to leave them with my name in there.

Yes unfortunately for some it can be a chore, but wait till you loose your bindings you'll be surprised how much you were forced to learn and how quickly you can re do them.

However having said that, I am currently using the X52, I am waiting for my X52 pro to be delivered. This is my second X52 as the original developed the throttle stop indent issue (read all about it on interweb before buying)

Can I just use my X52 profile on the new X52 pro, I break out in a sweat just thinking about having to re do it all.

See, if I were to read what's in front of me I wouldn't have to ask now would I :)
