A personal milestone (net worth) & a flying visit.

Postby LionOfNarnia » Wed Sep 16, 2015 9:07 pm

On 'that other forum' it's oft said that "if you ain't got pix/vid, it didn't happen" so I took the trouble to provide evidence ;)

After an INCREDIBLY tedious 8 days of 'flying' (it stretches the definition of flight to the limit!) an un-named and un-loved T-9 'suicide brick' on the Cemiess to LTT 9810 run I finally hit my target - 140+ million credits 'cash'- and as that T-9 is worth 110+ mill (according to Coriolis.io) that makes my total worth just over a quarter of a BILLION creds :D

It's taken me around 5 months to hit that point, I joined the party around the time of the 1.2 release. I'm having a beer & something nice to toke in celebration ;)

I'm now on my way to Diaguandri to purchase - well, repurchase, really - 'Monty, of course' to this spec (for mission & anti-pirate work)...

http://coriolis.io/outfit/python/27A6A5 ... 20Ultimate

...which will pretty much empty my balance, apart from insurance money & some 'pocket money' for cargo & charity missions.

But on the way I decided to take a small detour to visit what will one day soon be the place I call "home", Raffertys' Mobius.

Here's my arrival (I found the colour scheme a bit off-putting, TBT) ....

Image

Evidence of my well-healthy bank balance....

But I wanted to 'leave my mark' on the place so I bought a stock Eagle & parked it up there, mostly so I can find the place quickly when I need to. I know I could have just bought a sidey & saved 40K but hey - who actually buys a sidey anyway?

Image

Finally, a quick gal-map shot of my 'marker'.

Image

So hi ho, hi ho, it's off to shop I go :D

Then all the asshats who tried to interdict me had better watch out!

...oh, by the way, I now have a theory that anyone who gets to Elite rank in Trade is (either a dirty cheat or) SERIOUSLY in need of psychiatric help ;)

In the future you may want to consider trading that Type-9 for a trade anaconda. It is nice to be able to transport 452 tones, have shields, and a 20 Ly laden jump range. This is the basic build I started with. I have made some changes since, but don't remember offhand what they were.

Well done Lion - it was good talking to you during your shopping trip. :)

This is the loadout I ended up with.

LOLS @ Mouse :D

Well, she's had her maiden flight. Bugger me she's SO nimble after 2 weeks of bricks! I got MOST of what I needed at Diagundri, save for 3C/G beams & A sensors. Have to give a shout-out to Cmdr Hardy, though - we had a decent craic whilst waiting for module re-spawns. Now I'm on the hunt for those 3C/Gs, using the thread on - well, you know - and the galmap. Hopefully I'll get lucky sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I thought about a 'conda, but by the time I had enuff dosh for even a stocker, I'd learned I could escape an interdiction without losing my shields. Think I only used an SCB twice in the entire grind. Hauling 496 T. 3 jumps/leg was OK, gave me just enuff time to 'roll one' ;) between take-off & landing.

Anyway, from what I've read, the Python is much more 'my style' than a 'conda.

Hey, Hardy :D You posted just before I was about to! Maybe we'll wing up oneday, fight for the Order to take control of Raffs' Mob?

Cheers, youngster ;)

Similar main loadout to mine - only thing I'd change (apart from all the weapons ;) ) is either 2 chaffs or a chaff & another booster in the empty utils - handy to thwart those turret jockeys in 'condas

I'm going for a Clipper at the moment, for more maneuverable and survivable trading even though Relayer really really really thinks I should go for a python instead.

at the moment I'm looking more at survivalist.. so far I've lost 3 all fully loaded but only one with a high value cargo.. Didn't have this issue with the T-6.. a lot more survivable.

Think it'll be a LONG time before I get the chance to fly a Clipper - despite all I've done I haven't been offered ANY Imperial ranks yet, and am only a Midshipman with the Feds. It's a very pretty ship, for sure - but not being able to go to outposts is a major minus for me. Some of the most fun stuff around happens at outposts, especially the scary unsanctioned ones ;)
