USS - not a safe as you might think

Postby Xebeth » Fri Oct 09, 2015 11:07 am

So I was bimbling about looking for pirates when I dropped into a USS thinking this will be 2 or 3 pirates, nope more like 6 or 7 pirates and for some reason a Type 9.

Ok they were only smaller ships, but they all attacked me in one go, the Type 9 seemed to be on their side as well, so not only was I taking a shed load of fire I was mass-locked as well. Barely made it out alive!

WOW!

Thanks for the info, Xebeth. No more complaining that it's too easy to get kills in a USS!

That isn't a mislabled SSS? ANd dammit.. I stated that idea in Open vs solo mega thread some days ago in a discussion of increasing crime punishment to stop gankers as a way for the crime system to be circumvented and why it wouldn't stop ganking..

Used a Conda not a T-9 but same scenario.. multiple cheap disposable fighters.. the Conda only job is to keep you mass locked while they work you over.

Your ganked.. They loose the bounties on them with little loss of credits as their ships are toasted by security showing up.. Conda never flags since it didn't actively do anything.. and if they work it right get you flagged by getting shot by you while their teammate uses them as a shield.

I so hope I didn't give she who shall not be named and who laughed maniacally after 1.4 went live an idea >.<

That would be Sarah Jane Avery, Mistress of the Minions :) Blame her, she is laughing at all the posts like this, she even said so on Twitter. :)

You might be on to something here, as soon as I arrived one of the pirates messaged something like "scanning means nothing" or words to that effect, it does make it sound like it was a trap :o

Glad you got away, I've noticed with my Imp Eagle that I'm seeing mass interference (slowing the FSD charge) from Cobras now.. don't remember that before.

It's not impossible but they definitely upped the anty, maybe they have new uss delivered after what ranking you have or ship type?

I was hunting for some stolen cargo last night and dropped into no more than two uss and made almost a mil without even really trying to bounty hunt.

This was while flying my courier with dual beams and a hammer rail gun.

Sounds like the sorta thing that happened to me in Beta...

I dropped into a compromised Nav Beacon in a fully A rated Python.....

About 5 secs later the whole scanner was flashing white...Had about 10 if not more ships attacking me......

Nearly made it out.....
