Missions & Kill Sharing?

Postby Roger Wilco Jr » Wed Nov 04, 2015 9:03 pm

A while back, I remember winging up with Hengist and Byker. We'd all go to the BB and take the same missions. These were the named assassination type missions rather than general target type missions. Then we'd go out hunting and all help in killing the targets. When we'd get back and we'd all get full credits for the kill. (Although I still think the stats screen says zero assassinations.)

So with that in mind, have they changed the way that works? Is it different when they are the more general "kill 10 pirates" type missions? I'm asking because Flip has mentioned twice this week about arranging with other commanders who kills who at a NAV, and it seems that if they winged up the should be able to share the kill. I could see if you didn't wing up then the last shot would get the kill, so that would be a problem. Or is the problem you only get half pay for shared mission kills in a wing?
It's time to give this another go.

I am under the understanding that if you wing up your mission stats do not get updated and so you can never complete the mission....

Not sure though....

As I have yet to "wing up"

I just communicate with the other Cmdrs and we work it out.......

If you wing up and both shoot the target (say a pirate hunt mission):

1. You both get 50% of the bounty claim.
2. The kill counts to both your missions if it's a mission target.

If you can actually SEE it's a mission target that is......

But That's good to know......If on a Big pirate kill and Cmdrs pop in.....

Cheers....

OK, thanks for the info. I think I may vaguely remember that happening with regular missions, or maybe that was just the normal kill sharing in a wing while bounty hunting (no missions). Anyway, back then the main priority was making credits, although it was more fun in a wing.

I really haven't checked out missions for months (except recent smuggling). I assume the main reason to perform them is either to rank up or for the background simulation. I can't imagine them paying more than plain BH. If it's for the BGS, then it seems that winging up would get the missions done faster while having more fun, rather than taking turns, and everything would kind of wash out in the end. I wonder if the BGS also halves (averages) the effect of shared missions rather than stacking them if multiple commanders perform the same missions in a wing? Probably so.
It's time to give this another go.

Depends on your rank. When you’re Elite you get pirate hunting missions between 1 and 3+ millions credits. When you’re Deadly, between 500k and 1.2m. To which you add all the bounties. And it makes a nice change from hunting in RES’s.

And yes, winging up is way more fun. Since every kill is shared (as long as you hit a couple of times), if all the wingmates have missions, each kill count for all. And when you stack missions in a same system, you’re actually paid several times for each kill.
