I'm not against PvP in principle, but the point is that for a while now rebuy for my ships has been in the multi-million creds range, which means each time I die I need upwards of two hours play-time to recuperate losses. With very little computer time available at home, this doesn't work out for me. I'm hopefully not the biggest noob out there, regarding fighting (

Someday when I feel like it, I'll get me a Viper and go to the old worlds, to get some exposure, but not right now

What I am doing and what I'm up to: for some reason (right KS backer reward level I guess) I started the game in a Cobra when it came out (couldn't really remember back then), and after the initial fooling around with a couple of missions and getting a feel for things, I went mining until I could A-rate the Cobra. Those were the times, when asteroids always produced the same elements - we didn't have these new-fangled prospector gadgets in those days!
Then I got into rares trading, and after a bit of this bought an Asp which I A-rated through rares trading. Then I left for SagA.
After I returned from the Core, I got a Vulture and went bounty hunting for quite a while. Then I tried out a FDL (found it horrible) and a Python (hm-hm), and settled on a Clipper for the time being. I could A-rate all of these ships with the money from the Core excursion and the collected bounties, but the Clipper is something special - fast, feels maneuverable, and can be equipped in a very well-balanced way, I felt. Mostly did some RES bounty hunting in the clipper then, which kind of tapered off a bit when 1.3 killed the RES enemy spawn quality and frequency for me.
With 1.4 this changed, a lot, so I set forth again - got me a Vulture again for some mindless fun, the Chrome skin looks fantastic on that ship! Then I thought a couple of weeks ago it might be nice to give the Python another go, and set forth to A-grade it again (while keeping Clipper and Vulture in the hangar, fully stocked and ready in case I'd feel like it). So the Python saw some heavy HAZRES action until I had found a good loadout for me. Then went off with it to the edge of populated space for mission running from there, which I only did for an evening but absolutely loved - that was half a week ago. Then the Kaushpoos trading CG came on, and I was playing around with Coriolis and doing some mental arithmetic along the lines of "hey, if I cannibalize the Clipper and sell two or three of the more expensive components in the Python, I can actually get me a decently fitted Anaconda and do some serious trading for the CG... and maybe I'd even get to like that ship after all..." So I'm currently hauling Computer Components to Neville Horizons in my new Anaconda "Tradewind", which I painted gold because I was actually planning to haul Gold (and make some actual profits, not those peanuts that are doable with the way the CG turned out now).
Anyhow, I'll finish the CG, then trade in the Conda until I can re-fit my Python and also get the Conda upgraded with another 80 million or so, and then we'll see - currently trying to decide which of these two I'll focus on for the initial Horizons period
