What is the view like from the surface (imagine if you will) ? This is very important! Also, IMO it would be better to do this on an icy planet, I'll be filming the whole shenanigans for a YT video, and all vids so far have been sand deserty surfaces.

Really?
Why is that?
Has this been said by FDEV?

Well some well informed forum members have said. They reckon its to do with FD wanting more time to get the surface mapping done correctly on the moon, as we know what the surface is like, and have pics from it. Also, apparently the moon will be heavily populated at the timestamp.

Oh.
Well, that kind of makes sense.
But I really wanted to land on the moon - I still do! :)
I would also really like to land on Phobos and Deimos - the DOOM moons. :)

In the original SRV meetup post, Alex Brentnal had suggested Epsilon Serpentis system. It's chock full of planets and moons, and there are a couple stations in the vicinity for repairs. My favorite is 5B, a yellow moon in the shadow of a ringed gas giant.

The only downside to that system is that all of the atmosphere-less moons are rocky bodies (rather than a mix of rocky, ice, and metal bodies) if you're planning on jumping around and trying a variety of surfaces during the meetup.

Forgot this thread was on here, thought it was on FD's LOL

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3724 There is Boston's Wreck in Exioce. It is really close to the parent planet so should give good views while bombing about :D

Nomadski wrote:On a personal note, does anyone fancy meeting up with me on Thursday 26th or Friday 27th for some none carnage fun? Landing on a planet, spinning the wheels of our SRVs, doing a few jumps of whatever ships we bring?

I'm working a late on the night the OP is planning his thing, so would like a team up - we can do it in Mobius, or set up a private temp group.

Depends how much space we could find but we could always land a bunch of ships and do a slalom course or something.

Not that I'm against carnage (it's beta after all)
I would like to see how hard it would be to nail a moving buggy with a c4 PA on a conda :D
That would be deserving of a trick shot badge or something hehe.

We could also try a chase type thing.
A pilot in ship flies slow and close enough to the surface so commanders in buggies can following it. First to lap the ship when it lands win.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Epsilon Serpentis looks fantastic, just what I was thinking of myself!

Mobius - Almost a perfect system! Personally I really want to do the get together on an ice world, but if we find them disappointing after landing we could always move the meetup to that system.

As I won't be personally taking part in the meetup on the official forum as the 24th and 25th I am working late shifts, how about we set a date for an official Mobius SRV meetup for the 26th or 27th? (Thursday or Friday).

Will give us all time to get familiar with the SRVs / look for potentially even better sites (even though I would be quite happy with Epsilon Serpentis) / FD can iron out the initial bugs?

Try and get as many Mobiusi together as we can for some daftness. I should add ship v ship should still be a nono as per normal Mobius rules (another reason I am distancing from the official thread I linked to initially).

We can just find several potensial planets, and meet on more dates.
Today, this planet, tomorrow, that.

Just got a phone call that I have to go sailing Monday 30-11.... What a timing :(
My first planet landing will be next year.

Well typically I am on a late shift (AGAIN) on the new date, so for me it will be the 2nd of December.

I'm going to amend the OP.
