My new MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning....:)

Ah, nice. I could tell it was a video card, but that was about it.

I am trying to hold off for now. I have a 780Ti and it does well at my 5760x1080 (3 screen). I'm holding off because I want to try VR next spring, and I think it's going to require more than the 980 series can spit out. So I'm holding out for Pascal. We'll see I guess.

Enjoy your new gear.

Thanks. I will be having a 3 monitor setup but not for games as one is 4K one is 1080p and the other 1440p. The 4K will be the gaming one (hope they deliver it today) replacing the 1440p. I want to try this G-Sync think...

I am not following GPUs much as I am not much of a gamer (apart from Elite of course) so I have no idea what Pascal is. :)

I assume this is for 4K Ultra? I got a 970 Strix recently and it's smooth as butter on 1080p Ultra.

But so far I have been "forced" to get a new ultra wide screen. That of course meant my 960 wasn't entirely up to snuff so in came a 980ti 6GB ..

Now I thought that would be fairly over kill but horizons is using almost 5.5 gig of video ram on surface.

Was it necessary, well probably not but it sure is nice :D

I sold my 970 and a laptop I had so the money was burning a hole in my pocket. :)

I was thinking of a 980 for quite some time now but 980 Ti with 6 gigs looks better :) Running now on two monitors a 27" 2560x1440 (game windowed) and a 21"1920x1080 where the browser is. The 970 was going full speed with the fans when docked but the 980 Ti is now at 38% fans so I guess it will be a bit quieter also..

Waiting for my 4K 28" now... :)

What resolution are you running?

3440x1440, so still not UHD resolution, but the more I play the more I think such a gnarly card is needed :S
Well if you want to put things on ultra that is..

The difference a bit of resolution makes is quite huge, I was close to being able to run horizons on ultra in 1080p on my 2GB 960..

Indeed. Horizons at 1080p run smoothly on a 970. 1440p smoothly on a 980 Ti...4K I think SLI will be needed but I am waiting for the monitor to verify it

Very nice, that lightning card should be pretty much the fastest and quietest 980 ti at the moment for what I have read. What kind of power supply you have feeding it?
I'm running gtx 660 @ 1440p so I am in need of an big update.. If I would go nvidia I would probably be looking at that same card you have.
But I want to go with the red team this time. Sometime on January, Sapphire will release the non-X fury card of their own design, that is one that I am very interested in. I'm sure that their current card would be a great too, but I want to see the differences so that I don't need to feel bad for not waiting a month :)
Downside is that I do need to get a new power too, the current 560w is just not enough. Aiming somewhere between 850w-1kw.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

I have the cooler master G750 which is barely enough... I am considering an upgrade some time in the future

Talking about expensive, I just got a GTX 980 Ti.

I’ve maxed out all the graphics settings in game, and I downsample from 2560x1600 to 1920x1200. The result is amazing, compared to the GTX 770 it replaces. I’ve set the game to limit the framerate at 60FPS, and I’ve never seen it go below.
