Very strange. Even old hardware should be able to run Windows10 without issues. What is your MoBo?

Promise not to laugh? Ah hell, who am I kidding, people laughing at me never bothers me.

It's a 6 year old Packard Bell based coreI5-750 socket 1150. Quad core 2.67ghz. It's pretty much a no name board "Bulldog" is what they call it.

It has been rock solid since I bought it in January of 2010. The only driver that Windows 7 didn't have for that board is the oddball Intel Pro1000 gigabit Ethernet.

I have decided that I will stick to Windows 7 till I replace this thing.

Why to laugh. It is a decent machine. To tell you the truth if I could find a brand name PC that fits my needs I would prefer it to hoe made one.
We have Dell and HP at work (and some Fujitsu Siemens leftovers from the previous millennium) and apart from broken hard disks and the occasional faulty MoBo they are rock solid.

For my servers at home I used to have Dell 1950s and 2950s from 2006 and they are still beating the crap out of my home made i7 but they were so loud that I was....kindly asked to remove them :)

Now we should get down to business and beat the crap out of Exioce Crimson :)

I bought that machine within the first month of me moving to Switzerland. I had no clue even where to begin parts buying here so It rolled the dice based on what I saw in some of the Larger Electronics store. This particular machine I asked to see the guts and they allowed me to do so. I was satisfied with the components and saw it was not a proprietary system like some, so I spent the coin.

I am an IT Professional and this was the first 'Box' machine I had bought since 1990. I had always built my own. This one worked out, but the next one is ground up built for my needs.

Funny.....I'm thinking of doing the reverse.....

I to have built my own since about 90......

This time I'm thinking of shelling out for a pre built one....

Dunno yet though....Depends on the Dosh situation.....

I am also IT pro :)

Brand name servers are more reliable and can be at the same price range when you build a same spec machine.
For desktop computers never bought a brand name one too
