I'm hoping that as my eyes track to the edge the center of focus will shift so it still works. The HUD elements are still inside the boundaries, though, so that at least should be fine. I'll also be interested in seeing how the device mounts on a curve - may have to use my sons 3D printer to build a shim. Best Christmas gift I ever gave him - he keeps winding up printing cockpit devices for me! (Keyboard stands, joystick shims, etc., etc.) :D

R.e. screen resolution and colors; I use green for the main color. Much easier on the eyes. Lots of posts here and at the "other forum" on how to change the HUD colors, including tools to play around until you get what you want. In fact, I use green for the whole environment - my keyboard lighting is green, my command line screens are set for green on black, so the trade data on the side screen matches.

Now if I can just get the wife to stop calling my home office computer the "spaceship..."

Yeah that's my thinking as well.
I sent a support query and got the reply that I would loose 7" (if that's 3.5" on either side I think I will be OK) it would detract from native windows navigation. But I don't give two hoots about that.
The ups guy say he would drop it off around noon so hopefully I will know soon enough.

I don't see why this has to be attached to THE screen and if you have some kind of sofa TV tray or whatnot for it (like in my photo earlier) I'm thinking of attaching it to that and really the rest should be a matter of calibration...

Very good point. My Hotas/keyboard setup is an arms length away. Well within the 1 meter limit.

46 inch TV here. Fingers crossed for your findings.

Tentative results,, not good, no good at all.

in fact I would hazard a guess this is even a step back from FacetrackNOIR...
Might be something hinky but the gaze tracking is all over the place, and if you like me wear glasses that 1m of distance gets pretty much down to less than 50cm..

A curved screen certainly doesnt help it's impossible to get a proper stable mount.
I am going to check my bios USB settings cause this is almost too bad.

This is my new screen position, I still have to sit uncomfortably close to my hotas. And it still doesnt work as advertised!

Of course I still have a few settings to fiddle with, Obsidian after all had this for five weeks before posting :P

So far.

My best suggestions are at this time is.

screen larger than 27" = Don't bother.
Curved screen = Don't bother.
Wear glasses? = Don't bother.

1m. HAH, try two feet.

Crikey. Thanks for doing the testing. Saved me some cash and worries.

Bummer.

Well, I'm not giving up just yet.

I tweaked some bios settings, unplugged and replugged it, and it for some reason is giving off a lot less noise.

I was also testing in the ice fields against the bio waste containers, keeping an eye on target in the combat missions is a lot more functional.

I have now gone from "crap, I miss my POV HAT switch to. Hey this kinda works.

I admit my dime is resting on your testing:P I have 32" screen and glasses so that is 2 possible strikes

overall, this is definitely not consumer grade yet, I would maybe say start of their public beta testing.

I have for now switched to contacts and that helped a little bit more, but I'm iffy about these things since my right eye isn't fully corrected and they expired in 2011...

The infinite screen software so far has to be reset and tweaked on every reboot\startup it seems, it can't hold on to settings.
I could try launching it with admin priviligies but it's odd that's not sorted since starts on boot.

On another note, I think I'm going to have to reseat my cpu fan, after I swapped the mobo last week it seems to have jumped up 10c from before, at least.

I must admit having it in the buggy was suprisingly helpful, particularily when aligning for the bay and for just generally keeping my head in the right direction as the buggy slids and pulls as it bumbs along the surface.

Now I'm pulling my hair out - package didn't leave Sweden until last night, so I'm not seeing the delivery until Monday. I'll be watching to see how it works for you with tweaks, while I wait for my own. Just for kicks - how'd you resolve the curved screen mounting?

One thing I did do is pull up the multiple YouTube video reviews. Each had a little different "take" on the device, all had tidbits of how to use it.

And ArsTechnica had a number of articles, including some that address the technology behind the device.

I am holding some $$ back to see how it works out for the both of you, that will be the deciding factor for me.
