Hi Walter, I belong to the Order of Mobius and our current leader is Xebeth who you can contact in the elitepve.com site in case you want to check my credentials.
We recently expanded to Exioce from our Azrael homebase and fought a war with an NPC minor faction there. Our victory though didn't result in any base turnover despite our having a wide margin of victory which is why a bug report was filed.
I'm writing to you on behalf of the group to ask for your insights or knowledge re:expansions , things to watch out for that may not be described in full in your excellent BGS & minor factions post that may help us. Even if our Exioce effort proves to be a bust despite all our efforts ,we intend to keep on trying till we succeed.
Sincerely,
Cmdr Tifu
I know this isn't addressed to me (you mean Walt, not Walter), but you're asking for comments.
1 All the questions in your draft have already been asked and answered on Walt's thread - but you'll have to do a lot of reading until Walt's had time to condense it all down.
2 I can't speak for Walt or any of the other contributors to his thread, but whenever a request for help turns up the response is always for the evidence to tell your story (a point I've been labouring).
3 You're coming to the conclusion that wars in ED aren't just about blowing up ships: because wars are mechanical affairs, your key weapon is knowledge.
I'm trying not to tell you how to run your organisation, but my advice is to forget the last battle and thoroughly prepare for the next.
Judson wrote:The notion that the two parties combined influence is 'locked in' for the duration of a war is wrong! There are differences both in Azrael and in Exioce since just yesterday.
Since yesterday, Azrael's warring factions combined influence changed by 0.1% and in Exioce by 0.5%
I certainly agree that something's wrong - you may remember I've also bug-reported this on the main forum as not working to spec. There's also discussion on Walt's thread where no-one has, as yet, found a flaw in my conclusions. What we've been told by DB is either wrong, only part of the story, or the mechanism is bugged.
