This is the results from my GTX970 SLI setup:

Those cost me about $660 for the pair. SLI seems to work fine for their test, but I guess there is no guarantee that it will work with the actual gear, or the game for that matter. I'll probably wait for the reviews and then pick up a first gen VR headset for this system, but I also expect I'll upgrade to a higher performance single card when they come out. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the old system instead of upgrading everything.
It's time to give this another go.

Nice card and performance.
Wont fit in my laptop though!

It is a shame there are still problems with getting sli and crossfire to work with VR, which is why I went with the single card opposed to 2x 980M SLI.

Heck the 980 ti barely fit inside my full size desktop case.
Just barely managed to get it in without having to remove all the harddrive wells.

Pic or it isn't true :P

Nah, I can believe that, I was actually going to get the 970 myself.
And I believe there are certain things the 900 generation can do on card that the previous ones cannot.
I remember reading performance stats from guys on various forums during horizons beta and my single 960 2gb was outperforming older 780's and titans with twice or more gpu RAM.

I know I am not ready because I have an old GTX 650, but I am curios about my CPU. I know I need more Ram as well.

How do you think this will do?

Was curious to see, no intention of getting one any time soon though.

Well, out of further curiosity, I reran the test with SLI disabled and got the same results. I was actually a little concerned after the first test that it did not display two cards in the results. It appears that the test does not support SLI, and that SLI support in general with VR may be an issue. I don't know why they don't support it; it seems ideal - one GPU for each eye! Anyway, I had a similar problem with the FutureMark graphics test, but was eventually able to get SLI support configured.

The same performance as a 980 Ti with a single 970? I'm intrigued.

Go faster stripes, overclocking, or pulling the other one?

No.....I meant..

One 970 was the same as Tors 2 x 970's in SLI......

But as he explained later the test does not support SLI so that would explain it....

If there was a wrong end to a stick, it would be the end I was holding ;)

I thought you had the technical genius to make a 970 give the same test result as Tors 980 Ti, and was hoping for an insight.

Not that you were comparing Roger Wilco Jr 2x 970 SLI results with your single 970.
Yes, it indeed turns out the test does not use more than one card.
