Just refitted my ground assault Python back to a combat roll, while maintaining the ability to carry 64 tons of cargo and 2 SRV's for surface shenanigans. Sometimes the Vette wears on you, and you needs a more spirited ship for combat.

With all of the exploration chatter on the board lately, I'm thinking about putting an Asp together and heading out. Humm.... it's been about 9 months since my trip to Sag A.

Doing things backwards the last couple of days, parked my large vessels and bought an Imperial Courier and a Viper Mk III. Had lots of fun with them in a RES.

A smidge over 8000ly out now and the urge to turn around has gone. Up two earth likes and three water worlds and just found my first neutron of the trip.

I was about to try too, but my trip lasted "a bit" less than 8000ly.. few jumps after Obsidian Orbital and boredom hit.
Maybe one day, Might try with Anaconda next time, but then again Asp is cheaper and more agile, and I'm sure easier to land on high-g planets. Not yet back in the bubble but very close.
Should I install some sort of guns in the boat? Think I saw some rumour that it will be recommended soon. Don't know why.
Guns that use ammo are an option now too I guess, synthesis should work on ship ammo too if I'm not mistaken.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

I'm not aware of any reason to carry weapons, shields yes (for landing), but not weapons, unless I've missed something. Synthesis does indeed work on ammo.

Synthesis reloads ammo yes. But only once for each gun and I believe the basic version only gives half a load.

So if you have four multi's you will need a total of eight basic synthesis charges to fully restock.
Not discouraging I think basic ammo synth are quite obiqutous.

Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Once? So I would need to shoot ammo to zero again before I can do it again.

And for the topic; Dancing around Anacondas with a Vulture for change :)
Had to visit the station to fix canopy.

Hello,
Still slowly making my way to Maia. Have not had much game time to begin with and am detail scanning pretty much every non-icy planet. Also, landing on some planets to shoot rocks.
BTW. According to the Wiki landing on planets to shoot rocks gives exploration points. Is this true and how does it work?

Have fun, fly safe. o7

I spent yesterday helping Dawg save about 50 million credits. He sold a couple of ships that he had and bought them back in a 15% discount system.
Then we got talking about Mining. After telling him that I was making about 7.5 an hour mining, he wanted to try it so I made an Asp Explorer Miner which we both bought and I taught him how to mine.

He decided to keep the Asp Miner, but I sold mine back. Then we spent an hour Shuffling his new ships back to his Home System. Didn't make much cask (Down about 2 mill on the day) but teaching a few things was fun.
