Re: American D'Elite

The Mobius PVE is the one split for American Timezones. Mobius is for European.

Loriath wrote:To step back, I guess what I was asking is this ...

We enter a system, and we decide X goes coreward, Y goes outward and, if there is a, Z goes another way. We each scan different planets in our "direction," so we finish the system quicker ... and ... we don't get in this situation of scanning the same planets so "whomever sells first gets the name." So, when we return to the station, we don't have conflicts, we have different planets of different credit in the same system.

If you do it like you lay out, then you will get separate First depending on who scanned what, but you would all get the basic "Honk" price for hitting the scanner in system. As far as I know, the rule is you all have to be present at scanning and selling for the bonus. Might Prove awkward.

That's because you're Asshats ... purposely playing the game wrong, 'cause you don't wanna be right.

I'm looking for fellow American, and wannabe Americans with really bad accents, who are dumbasses.

Oh there is so much that could be said here, but as a Canadian living in Switzerland, not only do I have to be polite, I have to be Neutral.... (This is why I have so much stress.... Being PC is HARD!) :P

Ha! If you're Canadian, then after not one (1) but two (2) failed, American invasions, you have more than earned every right to poke fun at us Americans. Or to be even more non-PC, "Canadians ... [North] America's Original Insurgents." ;)

Until then ... I'll "Blame Canada!" (related thread). ;)

On a more serious note, I seriously need to spend a good 60 hours on a train throughout Switzerland. Got a taste of it a couple years ago, on a tight schedule (10 countries in 20 days -- all my own bookings), and definitely want to get back. Beautiful and I mean beautiful country.

I'm interested in joining the fun and shenanigans!

Preferably a few weeks after Engineers comes out, so I can play with the new huge weapons before heading to the black. ;)

I typically play in Mobius, but being a moderator, have access to both groups. (Folks that aren't on the staff should play in one group or the other. If they joined both, they should leave the group that doesn't fit their play times to make ample room for new players. Thanks.)

Does it really matter which group guys are in? Why couldn't we run the trip in someone's private group so that all participants could interact regardless of which Mobius group they are in?

Tour Grouping, plus [OT] Private Groups and Player Limits

I think that would be best, especially if we're going along a slightly different path.

E.g., although I still want to get to Sag-A at some point, I probably want to go off on a different arc towards it with a subset group.

More OT ...

I am interested. I hope that in a few weeks I will have my second Elite ranking (or killed myself from boredom) so going for the third one with some company sounds fun.

Of course it will depend on the time but European time zone gaming hours (after wife goes to bed) should be ok :)

My Asp with 34ly jump range is ready at Azrael but it lacks the SRV and her pilot the skills to drive one.

Think the first issue with groups size was that the list of people got so large it the "who is online check" the membership list did caused the thing to lock up.
So for a while mobius couldn't add or remove players.

Second issue may have been more of a hard cap. But that was anyways pre split around 20500 members.
There aren't to my understanding anything different between say my group or mobius since it not an actual server.
But the whole thing works more like a whitelist for connecting players.

Anyhoo. Anyone can run a group without much hassle unless like with mobius starts passing tens if thousands of members.

Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I was thinking that since play times would be different that if there are enough that we could elect (aka Draft) someone to run point on the Mobius PVE side and one on the Mobius side. Its more scheduling that I wanted to know which TZ people are in.

As far as a private group goes, I see no problems with this. I have a group, and i am sure there are a lot more that have one as well.

I added you a pargyrak.

By the way I'm still without region in the first post, I'm in the Euro group!

I'm sure this will happen. In fact I was going to see about building up a private group for those of us who play around the same 3-4 hours late at night (2100-0000 EDT), but fall back to the Mobius PvE, so I'd have a similar, charted path.

This is why I'm tempted to explore with a D-list Python, sans 5A Frame Shift Drive that will get me around 20ly. The Class 6 bays can fit 4 SRVs each. ;)
But I'll probably use an A-spec Asp Explorer if it happens sooner, than later.

This is what I wanted to know ... what "issues" might I be causing now that I've recently added (and been accepted) to "Mobius PvE." I'll go ahead and drop membership from the "Mobius" private group then.

I'll be itching to go exploring again in about a month. I play in Mobius, but I think a private group would be best. Ideally there wouldn't be "too many" commanders so we could all meet up in the same instance (via wing invites). I know DWE kinda broke things with too many commanders meeting up. I think if the group was limited to 32 or so we should be OK. Is there that much interest?

Unless you purposely want to take a long time, I'd suggest a new waypoint each day. DWE took forever with a lot of waiting around. Maybe pick waypoints closer together. Really, just about any low gravity planet or moon in just about any system should work for our purposes. I don't think we need pretty scenery.

I'm curious about what to do about meet up times. Ideally for me it would be after 5PM EST as I'm working (yes, I'm "working" right now). JohnLuke may want it later than that, depending on his situation. Would that be too lake for UK/Euro players? They had two groups on the DWE, but I never thought that was a great solution. Maybe vary the times? And if you're in Australia, you're screwed either way.
It's time to give this another go.
