Got in last night and was suitably impressed. On planets, my FPS was up and quality was better.

Oh and i said i would do this so....

^^^^ just like you said

interesting, I ran a data delivery mission with my Combat ready Vulture and no interdiction anyplace in 4 jumps and a planetary landing, then I did not cash in the mission, I flew down and picked up my Cobra III and got nabbed 2 times on this now one Jump mission, wonder if the NPC where scared of my Vulture ;)
Any way my Cobra has cannon shaped fangs so it didn't turn out well for them. The NPC's do seem to fight better now.

Some people are saying the NPC's are outright cheating they are so much "better". Like sidewinders one-shotting modules on an Asp.

Unless what I've heard is exaggeration, they are going to need to nerf the hell out of them. Honestly, I liked them just fine the way they were, though I haven't been interdicted by anyone except Fed Navy ships wanting to do routine scans, and they didn't even bother scanning me after they interdicted me twice. (Same two ships.) They'd just pull me down, then fly away from me.

I melted an imperial eagle in a USS, though I totally got the drop on him as he decided not to bother with me after seeing I had no cargo, so I didn't get to see his flying ability in action. (He was Azrael mafia, and wanted, so, you're welcome.) It does concern me that if they fly much better, it may be scientifically impossible to get anything but turrets firing on some ships in my Cutter, so I'm not a fan of that.

When the NPCs get access to tons of mods that I couldn't possibly have yet, it doesn't seem very "balanced" that they aren't dumb as a sack of rocks anymore, but I hope most people's complaints are blown out of proportion. First time I see a rebuy screen after a single DBX interdicting me, I may be done with this game. Not that I'm excited at the prospect of blowing up when 2 anacondas and a vulture come after me, but at least I can rationalize that.

Most npc's are no issue.
Then you run into the odd duck where you see the rule book is thrown out of the window, doused in kerosene, lit on fire, pissed on, and then passed through a woodchipper.

I dealt with a Cutter earlier that would spam shield cell every time he took any damage to his third ring OK enough but he was doing it regardless of whether a bank was already running.

I could have sworn he was popping cells so quickly I was fighting against the recharge of at least three or more. His third ring would simply NOT GO DOWN.

I was peppering it with all my guns (four cannons two huge beams and a burst lasers) and I had oom npc's in support as well. Still his shields didn't buckle until I rammed it.

All through the fight he never deployed a single heat sink either if I had employed so many sinks I would probably be on fire.
That is what I have a problem with. When the npc's clearly break game rules not that are less moronic.

But most npc's are just fine. In fact fighting vipers in the same Cz was easier than before.

I've seen my share of "cheating" NPCs prior to this patch but after 2.1, some of them are just ridiculous.

Like earlier today - I'm flying a 140mil combat fitted FDL, shield boosters, hull reinforcements, the works... and I get interdicted by a DBX. My first thought - "eh, poor guy doesn't know what he's doing". I deploy weapons, submit to his interdiction and turn around - just to see him boost the crap out of his engines above my head hitting me with a PAC 2 times.

I FA off - spin around with all pips to engines but there's just no way in hell to outturn the little bastard. Another shot from his PAC and my shields go down. I boost away and hope for a head-to-head fight. Guess what? He's still behind me. No matter where I go, no matter what I do - that little bugger stays on my a** hitting me with god knows what. After a few seconds, my hull was down to 60% (even with the military plating and tons of hull reinforcements) so I just jumped away feeling like an idiot for running away from a ship I usually just obliterated in a few hits.

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for challenging combat because flying around a RES for hours without even losing shields was just a faceroll. I have tons of ships, a decent stash of money so there's literally nothing ingame I want upgraded (I own a Cutter, Clipper, FDL, Courier, Cobra and an Asp). But SOME of the NPC ships are just plain cheaters at the moment. Because a single DBX should not be able to constantly stay fixed on a FDL's back no matter what you do.

I felt the AI knew exactly what I was pushing on my gamepad and just countered that with 2 steps upfront

Hello,
Finally got to try 2.1. Still out exploring so only managed to try out certain things.
1. Logged in had my ship tell me I had incoming messages. Opened up my inbox and found 8 messages from Engineers. Started scrolling through the messages and got invites. But when I scrolled to the 4th messages (I was scrolling bottom up) the cursor kept jumping back 2 messages below. Closer inspection showed that the top 4 messages were duplicates of the lower 4.
2. The planet textures seem better.
3. My Conda 's interior looks a bit better.
4. The range to planetary bodies in the left panel seem to jump more. Before they were smoothly counting down as I approached a planet, now they jump 10ly, 5ly etc.
5. Reduced number of heat sinks. And heat sinks I have deactivated show up on the HUD.
6. Bookmarks on galactic map. Awesome!!!
7. CLOCK IN THE COCKPIT.!!!

That's about it for now.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

HazRes now has system authority ships.. Good or bad, don't know. There also seems to be a lot more activity, never seen hazres this crowded.

Also noticed that ship no longer stops if a jump ends while you are alt-tabbed.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

Only managed about an hour in game since the drop, so far found the NPCs more slippery, but haven't found one that I couldn't keep up with in in the Vette, although FA Off is getting used a lot more now.

The security however is somewhat OTT, at one point there were so many security vipers attacking a ship that I could even see it, let alone shoot it, did look impressive when it popped and something like a dozen vipers flew out in all directions like something from an air display.

I've picked up a bunch of random stuff from destroyed ships that I have no idea if I need, and got a bunch of data scans.

Not tried any missions, but the ones I've read all look reasonable and seem to pay quite well for what they are.

SO far I like what I have seen, I like the little touches like the ATC voices, etc

However, I don't know if it's just me but SC stutters seem to be back, and WTF is wrong with NPCs eyes! I might give up flying and become an eye surgeon, there's clearly a huge market for cataract removal (I have a bunch of lasers, so what could go wrong).

If your PP is hostile in the system you're currently at - the police WILL shoot you on sight. Also - used my 2nd account (just a simple cobra with no combat rank whatsoever)... dropped into a low RES and the first ship I see is an Elite Clipper. Since I had some mission cargo - the guy scanned me and started shooting immediately.

I just got the hell out xD

P.S. Since alloys are back - gonna switch to my main account and start working my way towards the engineers.
