Just headed home after a short break and about a week messing with the RNGineers (they don't deserve to be called engineers). Arrived in system with low fuel, but thought I'd have some fun in the hi-res first. After about 45 minutes I noticed my main tank was drained and my reserves were at about 1/4! I headed to the station and landed on fumes - no bars.

When I went to refuel it said I had 1% in the reservoir. Phew! That's the closest I've ever cut it. :o
Still, made 2.5 million for 45 minutes work.

Btw, when I left the hi-res, there was an NPC search & rescue ship broadcasting that he was looking for ships in trouble. Then a few minutes later he appeared to broadcast to me (didn't directly contact me or call out my name though) that if I was in trouble I should try to follow him into his wake. I didn't think of it at the time, but would he be able to give me fuel? If he wasn't able to and I followed him, I'm sure I would have run out. Anyway, I may try to see if I can duplicate that situation again (thought not shaving it so close) and see what happens. That would be cool if they could spare a can of gas - or maybe make other repairs, like of your canopy is busted out. ;)
It's time to give this another go.

Hello,
Just upgraded Lady Jayne's C2G multis to lvl 5 overcharged weapons. 1st roll on one multi sucked, then the secondary roll kicked in and made the attributes suck even more. Luckily the 2nd roll on the other Muli made up for the 1st crap shoot.
Now working the commodities market to get the Grade 5 rep with the Dweller.
Thank the stars for my Cutter. I thought getting Elite trade rank was bad, this is worse. At least I have the mats for a lvl 5 Power Distro upgrade.

I'm really beginning to hate this RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG. I want to get the game designers who think this is a good idea, put them in a room and make them play Russian roulette, except with all the chambers loaded except 1.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Had a long discussion last night With Dawg and Tor about the Engineers. Shame Kharma missed it.

Came to the conclusion that we are done doing Engineers stuff as it is not really needed. Yes, its nice but the grind of finding stuff is killing how we feel about the game and that we need to stop and do a reset in our thinking. We already are aware of what the NPC's are going to be like when we haul stuff, or how we need to react to fighting depending on ships and ranks, so we are going back to doing what WE want to do.

With that, we found an Ice World with some ravines and proceeding to see how far we can fly the Buggies. At one point I was over 300m in the air and this was over relatively flat ground. 0.03 gravity is a blast. Jumps of that height also mean you can fly great distances. My best was 3km from Dawg who was stopped and staring at me being a fool.

No explosions though, so either I "got gud" or I wasn't trying hard enough. More Jumping Mayhem Tonight!

WE'RE BACK!!!

Score!! Nice roll, Xebeth.

I still haven't been able to bring myself to do the engineer grind. I'm reading too many stories of the countless hours invested in gathering goodies in the hopes of getting a lucky roll.

I'm sticking to doing what I enjoy in my vanilla ships for now.

Vanilla ships wont cut it any more... I guess it may be a bug but those Elite condas keep firing even with 0% power plant...
or I might suck at fighting them :)

what shields ya got?
When i nowadays rock a vulture i go military hull, all hullreinforcement and biweaves

5A Shields, including HRP but not the Military Hull. Will go get one today.
Thanks.

i used to use 5A for the longest time, specially since its agility is wonderful to stay outside enemy fire.
But main drawback with that shield it takes s along time before shields charge, so lots of breaks between fights.
With biweaves i can fight pretty muhc constantly, sure they fall faster, but armor helps you, and they charge faster.
Is there a good article on how fast shields recharge based on not just Pips, but the Power Plant, Distributor, etc... along with other drain (weapons charging, etc...)? It seems like I sometimes have an A shield in one configuration that re-charges faster (especially when down) than a C-biweave in another, and I'm wholly ignorant to what is going on underneath. Just trying to figure out how the Power Plant and/or Distributor factor in, as well as recharging weapons.
