Hello everyone. I have been playing for about a week or so now. Having lots of fun, but mostly getting frustrated. I am doing mostly bounties at NAV beacons or extraction sites. I do well for a bit of time, make some money but then I get shot up and die by some random NPC.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the game so far. The learning curve is pretty steep, so be sure to ask a lot of questions!

When you are bounty hunting, be sure to check to see if the 'wanted' ship you are preparing to attack is in a wing. It will show in your bottom left corner under his name, ship type, and combat rank info if he is winged up. I recommend avoiding winged NPC's until you've got more experience. I'd also avoid attacking large ships (Anaconda, Corvette, Python, Clipper, Federal Dropship/Gunship/Assault ship) until you are in a larger combat ship.

I'd be happy to do some bounty hunting at a nav point with you some time. If it isn't one of the things that JohnLuke mentioned, keep in mind that if you accidentally hit someone who isn't wanted, you will get a bounty on you and get attacked pretty much as soon as the current target dies. You can jump out of system and wait for the bounty to expire (usually 15 minutes as long as the target you hit doesn't get killed after you hit them) and then go back and pay the fine.

It can be hard to jump away in time, so if you think you hit someone by accident, check on the right hand side above where the mass lock and such is to see if it says "wanted". If it does, you need to be ready to jump as soon as the current target dies.

Generally speaking, Nav Beacons (unless corrupted) are pretty safe. I've not actually been attacked at one yet unless I scan a ship, and even then, it's pretty rare. Most of the time, if you see something big, you can just scan it, then follow it until the cops and bounty hunting NPCs engage it. Tag in if it looks like they are winning and collect your big bounties you wouldn't normally get.

Res sites are an entirely different beast. You will just get randomly attacked there.

I am going to log in now and add you guys. What system are you all generally in or around? I think I am in Olker at the moment. I made the trip out to Wolf 397 to meet the on engineer. But mining proves to be troublesome so I gave up on doing that stuff for now.

I am based in Gende, which is close to the Mobius home system of Azrael. You'll find a good number of Mobius commanders hanging around the greater Azrael area. It's about 205ly from Olker.

Aye, it's a bit of jaunt when you are first starting out, but give it a while and you wont even bat an eyelid at it. The nav computer will plot up to 1000lys, but there is no rush, we'll still be here when you are ready.

There are usually some guys around Azrael, Exioce, Apathaam and Cardea running missions for The Order of Mobius. You may also find guys in Dvorsi or Gende hunting pirates in one of the RES. Guys are around, but space is still a big place.

Jumping on TeamSpeak or Discord may be a good way for your to meet other players in the group as well.
