Hi everyone. Brand new commander here. I've only been playing for a week so its all new to me. I am mostly doing hunting at NAV Beacons and RES to get enough money to move up in ships (I'm still in a lowly Sidewinder). I was a long time EVE Online player but I've recently left the game in search of something more. I was what was referred to as a "carebear" in EVE. I would only mine and do industry and trade runs and occasionally some PvE missions for a change of pace. They changed something in the game a while back and it sermed like it was to the gankers favor. I got tired of the griefers and the gankers so I left the game. I have been searching around looking for my next space game (dabbling in Star Citizen a little) when I saw a YouTube video of this game show up in my feed. It looked great! I bought the game and setup my saitek x52 and launched. WOW! This is everything that EVE Online is not. Being able to just move around within a system and not being stuck going from point A to point B is great. Actually flying a ship and not just point and click. The way you can play on a solo server or a group server or, if you are into the thrill of not knowing if your next contact is a pirate group waiting to blow your pretty ship to space dust, you can play on open is just what I was looking for. I can feel free to do my own thing and play my own way and not have to watch over my shoulder (too much). Hopefully I'll run into some of you sometime in game. I am currently around Malloc (i think thats what its called) usually within a few jumps of it.
Fly Safe!
