Everytime I read a Saitek related thread.

I love my CH set even more.

Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

If only you didn’t have to use your feet with the CH or the Warthog...

Actually, that's how I originally learned. The "twist" came much later, largely thanx to the proliferation of the Microsoft Sidewinder.

Yeah, I know this is how it should be done (and is done IRL), but i don’t want to be stuck in a given sitting position.

My CH stick and throttle are still on the store shelf. But at least I think I finally have decided which hotas to go for when and if I finally decide to buy :)

I actually bought the CH set first ... and got Mexican-made units that were junk. I couldn't calibrate one of the units so it was useful. It was that bad.

I owned CH products in the '90s. After I returned mine, Amazon yanked their products from sale for almost a month. Apparently I wasn't alone with their new QC with the units fabbed in Mexico.

I had completely forgotten this, now I remember that you did mention about this earlier somewhere. I've been between CH and Warthog for a long time.

Amazon re-listed, so maybe they've addressed issues. What really PO'd me was "Made in USA" on the box, but "Made in Mexico" on the stick when I pulled it out.

I'm not being an arrogant American. I just understand engineering and, more importantly, industry fabrication. When you bring in new staff for a new plant, they rarely have the same experience. Outsourcing can be done correctly. I've been involved with one before. But many times, business people punt it, fire everyone, save the company money, and either leave or get promoted by 18 months, before the results come back, and yields are pathetic.

Side Note: Another side effect of outsourcing is IP theft, although far less in North America than sending to east Asia.

I used to pay the price for CH Products. Now I refuse to, until they prove to me their QC isn't crap again. My X-55 and, now, X-56 are better. They have their issues, but they are within tolerances. The CH Products I bought in 2015 were not, one unit was outside what I would consider tolerances, and the other was utterly useless and could not be trimmed out at all.

Well, that was quick. My fucking X-56 has completely lost the stick’s Z axis (the rudder). It worked yesterday, and today it just doesn’t register anymore. And i’m sure it’s a hardware problem, because i also tested it on a Mac with Joystick Show, a program that detects and displays all the axis and buttons of any controller and it doesn’t work there either.

Fuck Saitek, I’ll never buy any of their shitty products ever again.
