Been wondering if you can only find these geysers if you follow passenger missions. Been trying to find them out in the wild, but got tired of it and quit trying after the 3rd attempt at flying around the planet, 5km above the surface.

Also been wondering if these geysers are only at planets near the bubble.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

No, there should be geysers or volcanic fields on any planet listing volcanic activity, but only in certain locations.

These are static and persistent.
I guess they added these markers with 2.2 cause otherwise people would look for coordinates online and hunt for them manually.

There's one spot we like in the a-team where we have gotten around 3km of "air time" .

Maybe I'll give another planet a try since I'm still out in the black.
I did try to follow one co-ordinate. Found the non-sentient lifeform but no geysers.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Edit: Although CMDRs having to keep a spreadsheet of these things does not give me much hope.

Well if you detail scan a landable and it says volcanic activity you can get lucky and find something new.
But you would have to get to within at least a few km of them to see them.

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Just found a moon with water geysers for "Volcanic activity". Been flying around picking canyons and going in the same direction. 15mins and no luck. No plumes to be seen and no blue POIs. Think I'll leave this geyser finding to those with more time on their hands. See if I can pick up a mission when I get back to the bubble.

Okay ...

Monday night with some great help from a CMDR Alan (I'll let him fully disclose himself if he so wishes) loading up my Anaconda with 192t of Travel Guides.

Tuesday night I headed out to the first Colonia outpost some 2,000ly away. I took a high-arc path that went 900ly upward and slightly off-axis (towards the 2nd outpost), before starting back down. I only had to go about 500ly out before I discovered my first system, and ended up traveling about 2,500ly total in up and off-axis, before starting to come back down, discovering a good dozen systems and hundreds of planets in systems already discovered.

Now about 600ly from the first outpost, the farthest I've ever traveled out. No mistakes ... yet.

That's great news.

I'm about 9,000LY out between outposts 3 and 4. I gave up on VR at about 7,000 LY. With 430 tons and a standard Conda, it is slow going. But the trip back will be instant, so I guess it averages out pretty good. I've only had 4 emergency exits for scooping too close. ;)
It's time to give this another go.

Work kept me from any further progress last night. I plan on changing that in a few hours. But I'm definitely going to have to keep my exploration to a minimum to make it in the next 8 days like I desire.

Just got back into the bubble for the first time since late August.

I landed at Deciat to drop off my Asp and pick up my little friend here.

Now it's off to make my first trip to Jameson, I think. Either that, or I'll drive some passengers around. There were none available when I was out at Colonia, so this is the first time I've seen anyone in the Passenger Lounge.
