I tend to scan commanders who"re exhibiting unusual behavor - like hanging stationary around my favorite station for many minutes at a time. I"m also more aware of stuff in the CZs due to recent events. But other than that it's (friendly) business as usual for me :)

I always get twitchy and alert when I see a hollow blip unless it's one of the "familiar" names anyway, I Maybe a little more cautious after last night with my incident outside the CZ - I certainly won't be headed into the CZ unless I'm winged up, I don't appreciate a "mob" going after a single lone ship - school yard tactics

For the record in CZ's I tend to leave other Cmdr's alone, I prioritize my targets by things that are shooting at me first, so if you are not shooting at me you are pretty safe. :) My view is that we are both there to make money farming combat bonds, so I have no real interest in fighting with other Cmdr's unless they give me cause to.

With that said I did have an incident with another Cmdr in a CZ who was green to me, but got upset about me shooting at something he felt was 'his kill', then decided to shoot at me and make threats to come get me! Had I not been at 41% health I'd probably have happily stuck around to see how his corvette fared vs my FAS. I found the whole thing pretty amusing, someone who could afford a corvette getting bent out of shape over a 40k combat bond, and then being prepared to lose his ship over it. :D

I've done the PvP, I've been a bad-ass 'stand or deliver' roleplay pirate in another Commander's ship before I rerolled.
I've made enemies with The Code's original founding leaders and died by their guns, and have a past belt of notches with their names on it too.

I got bored of it, always killing, there's a galaxy to see, but I don't need to get my ass handed to me when I'm not really expecting it, because the NPC's are not asshats, that's a human trait. It's the mark of a bully, and I discovered I was surrounded and was becoming one.

Then I joined Mobius, the so-called carebear PvE group of nancy's as the other unfortunates call us.

Flying with friendlies always suits me, I know no one is going to backstab me, and if they do, its going to be to my face.
Nowadays, I am fully dedicated to Mobius and the PhP (I like that, I'll send a cargo of gold later for royalties, Loriath)

Now, if I pass another 'hollow' on my radar, I send a "o7" and a friend request, whether they scan me, know me, winged up with me or not.
Sometimes they reject, other times they didn't see it, but mostly they accept. I take that as a "ooh, another green splodgey wotsit on my Galactic map, another pilot that won't shoot at me. Cool."

To me, sending a friend request is akin to offering a peace treaty. A very obvious "Yes, I do wish to see you on my map, and visa versa, because I *am* friendly."... and I have to be, I have a duty of care as a member of the Mobius admin team, I was accepted as mod for the forums, made the Facebook group lead admin and even the TeamSpeak admin because I was around, and showed I cared.

I take this duty seriously, the price I pay for having 'the power' is to make sure it used, but not abused.

I have to be visible, I must be visible, so CMDRs know who to come to when shit hits the fan, and they expect me to know, or do something about it.

But, that's just me.

I'd sooner just trust everyone to be an okay person than be suspicious. Thus I will be hi or o7 to everyone. If they engage me, then I might get suspicious. But I won't shoot first. I'm pretty good at legging it.

I play BF4 for pvp. I'd kick their arse.

I'll always accept a friend request, but I'm quite lazy and don't go through the 'in-game friends list, so just send me a request :D.

I'll generally "o7" when I see a hollow blip, always happy to stop what I'm doing an answer questions or just chat (I wish there was more random Lore chat though), always happy to wing up (but be aware that my play is quite stop-start as my wife has a knackered back and I have to regularly nip of to do stuff for her).

I treat hollow blips as allies first, and every time I see one I think "ooh look a real person, nice".

It's a game, I have the insurance value many times over, there are too many actually important things is real life, but that said like Saberius I take my role seriously, and my role is too support the forum and help players where I can, and as such I'll assume that every Commander is someone who I can help if they need it, or just say "o7" to if they don't.

I was shuttling cargo last night in the Mobius group. I was in my Clipper and I just redid the modules converting it over from a combat ship to a hauler. I still hate it lol. Running cargo is similar to watching paint dry, does nothing for me. Anyway I saw a hollow blip on my radar. They circled in behind me and I tensed. I am also from Eve and I've had my fair share of deaths and kills. I don't seek out pvp but if it comes knocking I will fight back as I have stated numerous times in the past.

I don't know who it was, they didn't speak in local and when I switched to contacts to turn and scan they took off, so who knows what the intent was. I do know that the moment I saw them I switched my pips to combat and made my weapons group primary.

Aside from last night I have never seen another group member in the group.
